How much CVT FE for grande

Hello everyone.

A couple of days ago i got grande 2018 cvt oil changed from Toyota GT. They included a 4 liter red cvt fe tin in the bill. However, when i was leaving the workshop they handed over me the remaining oil. By sloshing and weight it seemed that there is around 1.-1.5 liters of unused oil in it which means they only poured 2.5 - 3 liters of oil.

Is this fine? Or is there something out of recommended practice here? I am a bit terrified of the horror stories of cvt specially after first cvt oil replacement. Mileage is 57k.

U need 2 cans and 3 refills will left u with around 1.2 L in the end. 1pack method is not right in the first place

Horror stories are due to dealership methods. Follow Dr Alis thread and see the proper way. Allmotors in Lahore knows how to do this the right way

I dont really know what method dealership applied but i was left with around 1.-1.5 ltr. In case vehicle only requires approx. 3 ltr why do they sale it in a 4 ltr tin

Used simple method of draining first opened drain bolt than filler tube drained all the oil then put back filler tube added oil from filler port once oil start coming from filler tube placed the drain bolt back
1 tin used and half or litre was left
Done this on 2014 and 2015 model both are under my use and driven under harsh and rough condition alhumdullilah no compaints till now

correct amount returned
