How much does car value reduce by repainting/ showering?

I have a Honda City 2015 in relatively good condition, no engine work, but it has 2-3 medium dents behind doors, and its hood's color is not genuine (the previous owner claimed he got it painted from dealership but the paint was of v poor quality). The car is not accidental, I bought it through Pakwheels and it was inspected at 7.8/10. There are 3-4 large scratches here and there, and countless small scratches. It irks me to no extent.
I want to get it repainted in parts (hood, two doors, bumpers) and shower + compound the rest. Everybody who I have talked to, suggests not to do anything besides compound polish as the car will lose value. I have been planning to sell the car in an year or two to move abroad. Have had this car since an year.
My question is if I do get this repainted and showered/ compounded how much value would I lose? Engine is in pristine condition.

Here mind set of PK buyers is very
different and its all set by our mechanics hazraat. Yaar 1 door paint hey, yeh
confirm koi accident hua ho ga. Chorr do. Don’t consider it. Koi aur genuine gari
mil jaye gi.

Hence the mind set of the general population
has been set accordingly. In KPK, if your car has many scratches but its with
its original paint, they will happily buy it. But if its any tiny portion is
painted, they will pass on or will give offer like 2-3 lakh less than your
demand just because one tiny portion is painted.

Everyone has their own mind set and you never
know.

Bottom line. If scratches on your vehicle bothers
you, then have them re-paint. Forget about 1-2 lakh down value. Otherwise leave
them as they are since you will sell it in an year time.

Thanks - I just hope it does not fall beyond 1-2 lacs. I bought it for 2.5. Have kept it in the same condition ever since. Driven quite a bit, but kept it very well looked after too. Do not know if market has changed since then or not. Assuming it has not, I hope I can sell it for at least 2.3.

Repaint/shower leading to decreased value of car is a concept not only invented by Pakistanis but is prevalent globally as well. Even in the US for e.g repainted/showered car loses value more than a genuine one.

Another factor also plays a part and that is how old the car is.
A 10 or 15 years old car with repaint will not loose much value as compared to lets say, a 3 or a 5 years old car.

Another interesting thing I once noted was an uncle taking pictures of his car before and during repaint for record for the future buyer.
