How much mileage for a JDM is safe to buy?

How much milage for a JDM is safe to buy....i mean after how much on odometer the performance and maintainance of a JDM stays unaffected or lets say 95% overall performance wise let alone body

i am just asking about performance of engine suspension and every thing in it other than physical looks

Its perfect unless driven in Pakistan, no matter the mileage. Once it's been driven here. It's a death trap

My Alto 2014 JDM has been driven for 40k kms in Pakistan with 0 problems whatsoever. Depends upon the car you're purchasing.

Mine 2014 was imported at 5k and now its nearing 40k

My old 2006 one was imported at 36k and i sold it wat 1 lac 32k km .

If the car has been maintained well they dont have any issues

I can understand what you are ref to but a lot needs to be thoroughly inspected before buying a used car. Eg Owner, registration city, papers, body, suspension, electronics, engine etc etc. Milage alone is no ref of condition. A well maintained car can last a couple of lac km. unfortunately we guys lie a lot while selling a car so you have to look out for defects before buying one.

Plus odo can be reversed for like 3000 bucks. I once saw a un registered prado whose odo was being reversed. I asked the mechanic and he replied the prado owner is a thekedar who travels a lot. The car will be registered shortly but before that owner wants odo to be reversed. Such is the state of affairs when it comes ro selling a used car

Brother, Engine, Suspension, Transmission, Body condition, etc. Should be the yardstick for good condition of the car, instead of odo reading.

No doubt, with the passage of time, things age and its normal, but if a car has always been well maintained and driven with care, then one will not face issues. Cars are also machines, and like every machine, they need care and maintenance.

A poorly maintained car with may be 30-50,000 Kms can be quite problematic and bring headaches to the owner to be, in comparison to a car which has always been well maintained and may have 1.5-2 lac Kms on odo; irrespective PKDM or JDM or USDM, etc.

How our local mechanics are able to mess up with the software? i think that requires high software skills....

Once a car is in Pakistan, you can never say what the actual mileage is. It must be reversed.

Our mechanics can even weld a half cut vitz almost flawlessly. We are evil genius people. The day we learn to use our potential towards positive things our fate will change.

Grade of imported cars show overall mechanical strength of car including suspension and body. If Grade is above 4-4.5 then car is in good condition no matter what is milage. you will see cars with no accidents milage 40-50K rated below 3, and you will also find cars which will have 4.5 grade with milage 70-80K. so buy cars above 4-4.5 Grade.
But you should be importing car yourself because our car dealers do alter auction sheets, ODO meter, repair accidental cars and what not, so be aware of this fact.
I imported my Aqua S 2015 with 76K on ODO it is now at 106K still like new

A friend of mine had bought Mira 2014 from his friends personal import in 2016 at price of WagonR

at time of import the condition is :
1. OD is 10,000
2. 4 Grade
3. only left fender was damaged
On paper its is the best car one have and runs fine for 2 years

now in 2019 the problems he is facing after driving 50,000 kms
1. Damaged CVT gear box and recently replaced it with used one
2. very low pick
3. very low AC performance
4. repaired the suspension

Now decisions yours what you got after spending so many money what crap you get.

Kindly keep it in mind usually in Japan people buy cars with lease agreements with banks and its for 5 years and Pakistani Govt Allows only import of cars with in 3 years. that means there is very little chance of getting a clean car that is 2 to 2.5 years old. Japanese people do not repair the cars/ or uses damage cars after accident, so when their car got damaged in they replaced it with new one (as they have lease/long term rental agreements). So we repair these left over cars and then import it in our country and drive in Pride as "I ONLY USE JAPANES CARS not local one" (main tay japani gaddi hee laysan)

It all depends on how you maintain your car. If you has less knowledge and take your cars to desi mechanics then definitely this thing will happen which is the case for 90% people

A friend of mine purchased a belta and drove it for 5 years and never repaired CVT or suspension or anything. It really depends how you purchase it and how you maintain your car.

Pakwheels inspection and verification service is pathetic, don't trust them

this is heartbreaking .... i thought it to be only way of being certain about the quality of JDM vehicles....thought that Pakwheels is doing good job...but if whatever you say is true....then i dont think i have any other credible way to inspect car quality...do i?

Yes there is no proper way other than relying on person who is selling the CAR. which in case of Pakistan is suicide mission. So either you import the car (Grade 4 & Above) yourself OR find a trustworthy person.

This is a sad reality, we should be ashamed of ourselves, we are Muslims and still we get cheated every day by Our Muslim fellows, this is our condition

Car meter is surely reversed and auction sheets is tampered. ODO at 10000KM car can't possible have damaged CVT & low pick, that's common sense. Japanese people have very strict criteria of car inspection. this is us who tamper these cars, I have seen cars with auction sheet of 4.5 grade and 20K milage, when verified turned out to be an accidental car with front completely destroyed in accident. Also there was a car with 5000KM on odo in auction sheet, when verified turned out to be 150K KM
