I heard it differs from car to car or make.
I'm still figuring it out with my Corolla Se Saloon. Can anyone shed some light ?
3-4 Kms in City and 8-10 on motorway... Civic Auto 2006
for circuit car, its very few kilometers only because the reserve fuel remains inside the inverted cap where fuel pump is in tank.
for circuit car with two pumps, you can use all fuel in tank but will pick up rubbish which was already in tank.
better is to not let the fuel go less than last quarter to keep fuel system cleaner
my ex Cultus easily use to go approx 10 kms (on CNG) when all the green light are gone.. my Baleno hardly goes to 3 kms max!
on my corolla 2.0d..... i was comin back from lahore. just after i crossed Chakri (ie. the last stop) meter's reserve light lit up. from that place to F-11 markaz... i came on reserve... n thats THE TRUTH..... whether u ppl believe it or NOT.... !!!!!
I drove from Shifa International ISB to Shifa eye trust Rawlpindi on my Alto 06.!
in altis 2007, minimum 7-8 ltrs is available as reserve, so if a car is doing 13km/l, around 100km easily.Tried many times.
Some japs have a 10ltr buffer like camry, corona etc.
I beleive it will be same for xli, gli, se saloon as tank is same
My gli gives above 50 km which I have seen. But i think it can much more than that in reserve.
In city 2010 reserve fuel is 7 litre, so drive depends upon road, speed, braking etc. but refill as earliest that your car fuel filter become choked.
This thread is a service to mankind specially those living on the edge.
My 2-od do more then 50 kms ~
on cng reserve light my car does 20- 25kmz on highway
Well I havent installed a CNG kit in my car and I usually do 1000rs petrol refills after the reserve light lits up. Theres no petrol pump near my office so it really gives me a heart attack when the light turns on. Wanted to get a rough idea how much i can risk driving on reserve
SELF EDIT: got the answer above in the fourm to my question sorry
For CNG reserves, the lights can be adjusted.
For cars, it differs from brand to another. Surprisingly, some cars like Cultus don't even have one. I was told that my ex Corolla `97 had ten liters of petrol remaining when the warning would light up.
Useful topic. I wanted to know about others too.
differs from car to car - like my MB has 4 US gallons (approx 15 litres) of diesel fuel when the little triangle lights up next to R (indicating its on reserve fuel) the fuel gauge does not say E like all other cars. Its R--1/2--1/1
in the fuel left I can drive 100 or 110 miles before it goes dry.
This thread needs to be revived for the New Car Models
For corolla 2008-2017 its 55L tank and reserve light comes up at 43L so 12 litre remaining. Might be same for civics. As for vitz & passo its 42L total & reserve light pops at 35L sparing you 7L. For Suv total tank size is usually 80-90L and light comes up at 65-70L so around 20L in reserve.
What a comment
