How to adjust headlights on a 8th gen civic?

Can anyone let me know how I can adjust the alignment of headlights of the 8th gen civic? They are a bit on the lower side which is not safe especially on highways. I do not want to go Honda and pay them Rs. 500+ for a simple job. If I am not wrong, there is some sort of screw which adjusts the headlights level. Can anyone guide?

Since you have HID's and they produce alot of glare and beam is not pointed correctly.

first thing if Honda has a machine to do it this way will fail becasue you have HID's

secondly follow this make a chart or mark it on the wall

and third way is just adjust them as you like drive it for a while and adjust again to your liking.

Open your hood, theres a hole above the light. and clockwise is up and anti clock wise is down i guess. Though i have never done it my self or witnessed it

Found some pictures which might be of some help.

This is basically the screw but you'll find the hole on the top side. You can have an estimate by putting a long screwdriver I think "+" one, in that hole and the screwdriver should fit on the screw.

This is basically the architecture of the adjustment screw.

This picture belongs to the manual of 1998 Civic. Normally, the logic remains the same but the location of the hole may vary.

As far as the precautions are concerned, this is what the current manual has to say.

Thanks istafa111 for the detailed reply. Actually there has been an interesting development today. I thoroughly checked the lights today and it seems that the low beam is perfect but the high beam is a bit low. I'll try taking some pics but how is this possible?

HID's making it look like that or they went a bit off then Hid's were fited

Qwertypoiu may be right. This may be the cause of difference that you are noticing.
