Does someone know how can I get my alloy wheels buffed or polished, they have lots of blimishes all over. I wonder how these scratches will come off????Thanx
A machinist can do it on a lathe machine. They will remove the upper surface of the metal with a cutting tool. A total of about 0.05 mm af material will be removed. You can discuss it with some machinist ( Khiradia).
I believe it wont cause any imbalance in the wheel? and I wanted to know who might be an extert in it so that I could simply ask him directly. I live in Islamabad and Pindi is within reach
Dont get it done from a machinist because it would lose its grainy finish. Go to these paint guys who buff your cars paint also, tell them to buff your rims with very little amount of Cutting Cream.
I got mine done from Saddar Rawalpindi.
Yar mine have a few scratches on them and may require a bit more than polishing
Yes well, if the scratches are DEEP, then you'r in trouble !
If the wheels are WHITE and not the textured alloys, then I suppose you can get the scratches filled with PUTTY and then get it painted.
I think you could post a picture of your car's rims for accurate assessment and advice from those who have already tried different methods.
buff is good idea but how much ? i have 4 alloys.
the street right next to Babu Mohala , Saddar ( it has number plate and key makers in it) ask anyone who will buff the alloys. alloys should be taken out seperated from tyres and then given to them. Time 3-4 hoursMoney 1000 rupees for 4 rims
my rims had patches scratches. all gone
get some rubbing compound with with heavy grid in it.......get a tooth brush and applay 2 or 3 application on it.... than get a very fine sand paper and wet in a water........ do little section see the result...... and wipe it off with soft cotton cloth.... cotton towel is best.....it be nice you post the picture of your rim...... mean time let see if I post the picture of a rim cleaner.... I wonder if its available in pakistan.......Btw: Its lot easier if you have blond next to you while you buffing the rims....lol
Thank you all, very keen resposes, I appreciate them all:)
