Japanese cars come in many variants.
The domestic market cars which dealers call JDM are very low quality vehicles, their paint is very thin, they have very poor insulation and very poor corrosion protection too. The same cars when built to be exported from Japan have many variants too, EU, ASEA etc etc - the most common of them called "GEM" which translates to "General Export Model"
The General Export Model cars are much higher build quality than the JDM version - this even applies to vehicles like Land Cruisers and Nissan Safaris.
The cars being built in Pakistan are not GEM or JDM, they are built in Pakistan - they have some unique build items like heavy duty suspension and springs, heavy body corrosion coating (which is promptly removed by teyshun wash over and over again), heavier insulating rubber and the interior plastics are also a bit better than EU, US, ASEA models - and are categorized as equal to GEM quality.
The reason for these unique differences is that in Pakistan cars "end of life" is 20 years - unlike 5 years of Japan. locally
