How to check a faulty MAP Sensor?

I have 4efe engine in ee90 corolla and I have already spent lot of money on ring piston and valve seals etc, because it was smoking and reduced the engine oil. But still I have facing very poor fuel consumption. It just give my 4 to 5 km per liter of petrol.
The engine is on standard pistons and open first time.
My mechanic suggested me to replace the plug wires as I have changed these once damaged by the rat few month ago and changed the fuel injectors.
But I can't understand these myths that how it possible for the car to give 12 to 13 km per liter on local after changing these parts.?

1: Poor fuel economy just ( 4 to 5 km per liter )
2: kacha petrol ( Petrol Smell )

Can not check on computer because it is altered car not genuine as said by the computerized workshop mechanic.

it could be done if the wiring was done properly. i also had to fix my wiring. the best approach towards solution is, if you done the engine wiring properly, you can buy un-cut wiring from engines market, and then get it joined with the car's wiring with some good electrician.

There could be many reasons for bad fuel consumption, but first you should sort the problem of wiring, because in these efi engines, there is a brain(computer), which takes decision for utilizing fuel. And if brain is not getting input , it cannot made good decision.

@saadeez101 following may help you step wise diagnostic.for your rich running car.

1. Bad Fuel Pump Regilator (Causing excessive pressure, check fuel pressure by gauge)
2. Bad/ Clogged fuel Injectors (check their Pattern on ANSU or any ultrasonic cleaning machine)
3. Clogged Return Line (same as 1)
4. Get Scanner hooked up and see the Intake Manifold Pressure reading at idle and on pressing throttle. It should change if does not then your map is problematic
5. Do you have Missing Symptoms?

Have you checked your coolant temperature sensor?This is a primary input for fuel enrichment.it varies fuelling depending on engine temp.
a fault in this won't show a cel if it doesn't have a open circuit it's reading might not be correct.
also running engine cold without thermostat won't help.
