How to check a faulty MAP Sensor?

I am running 4EFE motor in EE80 86'rolla . And it is drinking fuel like anything. How can i check if it is having a faulty MAP sensor? i can smell of unburnt petrol.

No. but the problem is fuel consumption + i can smell petrol from exhaust

check for leaking injectors first and check the little vacuum pipe for the fuel pressure regulator too.

Desi tip. Start the car and sit close to exhaust. If ur eyes feel itching/burning, map sensor is not working

Na yar..........I am sure that tip was given by a mechanic who wanted to become doctor.........come on how come eyes are linked to MAP? on lighter side and no offence to OP @Xulfiqar i was imagining a marketing statement that would result by person having such skills..........

@saadeez101 following may help you step wise diagnostic.for your rich running car.

1. Bad Fuel Pump Regilator (Causing excessive pressure, check fuel pressure by gauge)
2. Bad/ Clogged fuel Injectors (check their Pattern on ANSU or any ultrasonic cleaning machine)
3. Clogged Return Line (same as 1)
4. Get Scanner hooked up and see the Intake Manifold Pressure reading at idle and on pressing throttle. It should change if does not then your map is problematic
5. Do you have Missing Symptoms?

ive checked the wiring of MAP sensor, it seems correct. injectors arent leaking, and did @misteek 's checkup, and got itching

Yes and it has pipe going to tank but you cant physically test it. Use pressure gauge

use nose buds to stop smelling fuel, how can a vehicle drink fuel ? is it high fuel consumption & bad air fuel mixture you are referring to ?

Ok your map sensor is faulty. I had the same problem. Replacing MAP sensor solved the problem.
You can confirm it by two more tests.
1. Rev the car and see the emitting smoke. It must be black.
2. Take your car to any ENERCON workshop. The one i know is at F-7 markaz PSO pump. The guy named Tayyab there. He has computerized equipment to check emissions. He puts a stick type thing in the exhaust and the computer measures the emissions. If the car is rich on fuel, the computer will tell you. Desi term for this problem is "Gari kacha maar rahi hy"

I invented it myself. I had the same problem and got it solved.

Khair its the rite way to do it even if you don't agree, You rule out things one by one rather than going with intuition and saying you have this problem without going to proper route.

It is about diagnosing the problem and is never ever said to exact part without any certain logic. I do not deny your way of itching eyes with faulty MAP but you never explained your logic? what if you sit near exhaust and your ear starts itching does that makes faulty TPS? come on i am biased towards helping people the correct way.

Well @misteek dont try to be offensive....... reason i referred you user manual is that they have certain steps to follow to diagnose a problem. If you haven't read one then we can understand the answer you gave.
