How to check if a Demand Draft received is authentic and not forged?

Hello guys,
its well known that demand draft or pay orders are safe especially when dealing in property..but i have heard a few cases in which the seller recieved DD/PO from the buyer but when it was submitted in the bank it was forged or cancelled..Is there any way of checking the authenticity of these before handing out your property to the buyer

@ali454 Options I've seen in property transactions:

1. Insist that the PO/DD is made in front of you. After it's done, take a copy and ask the bank to stamp it.

2. Either you or the other party open a bank account in each others branch and the transaction takes place in the bank, upon which you submit the DD into your account and the money is transferred real-time. Then ask the bank to issue you a statement which reflects the amount in your account.

It all depends on the type of transaction and society where you're selling/buying. Pm me if you want further advice.
