To check originality of Oil,you can check the paper label seal on every Total oil Lubricants bottle

check the securiy printing on label which is Color changing properties.green to purple.
For PSO you can send sms for verification of bottle.

But plz read carefully.
When you will visits different shops and will have chats about oils with owners, etc. After that when you will step out from the shop, you will be in position to recognize that this oil dealer sells original oils or fake.
Yaar, this is really something i cant explain in words exactly. But just a little fast IQ and bit use of common sense is enough to know about the quality of the products at that particular shop. Try it and am sure you will be able to make a quick decision by yourself.

just for the kicks, when i usually steps out from any unknown oil shop, i can really guess about the quality of the products they are selling.

well now they have one dealer in every main city. Instead of making online payment and.getting oil by tcs, i will INSIST to visit them personally, have chats, dig out more informations, know about the new additives, oil's life enhancing tips, the factors that hurt engine oils, etc etc. Dont sit at home/shops/offices, spare time, go out to meet them with greed of information in your mind. And am sure you will learn loads of it.

Instead of horsing around talking to shop owners who have no idea what oil is, simply get the TDS and find an authorised jobber. When I wanted to buy some special stuff e.g. a bucket of CVJ grease, I did not sit around in a shop and ask the owner's ehwaal. <--- This was in Karachi Pakistan.

On the TDS sheet, do we have 'reference values' ? just like we have on the medical reports?
