It depends on what you need to do... Let's take the example of a salaried person who has only one source of income and tax is deducted by employer.
First you'll need an iris login. Working the iris portal you'll need to first file your wealth statement.
The wealth statement can include minimal info, for example, you can add details of the car under your name and leave everything else blank. As long as the end calculation is 0, you're all right.
Then to have the actual tax return form. If you're an employee, you only entry your salary and leave the rest blank. You can include details of a cell phone connection, land line, internet, etc where you've paid withholding tax but since there actually no tax returns unless you have connections, it's not always with the effort.
Until last year, I was seeing the amount being deducted by my employer in the withholding tax field but this year I had to enter it in myself. Whatever - I got a letter from my employer showing income paid and WHT deducted as proof in case it's every needed.
