How to factory unlock iphone 4, running iOS 6

I have iphone 4, having iOS 6.0.1, locked on O2(UK). How can i factory unlock it?

Suggestions required from iPhone users.

I bought 2 iphone 3gs from USA... Both have AT&T carrier .. got factory unlocked from local market in just 500rs each...
Dont know about 4..

4G will work with GV sim. Cannot be unlocked other wise till now

Yes, it's easy for devices running iOS 4 or 5, but unlocking iOS 6 based phones may not be that easy at the moment.

Anybody having experience of unlocking iOS 6 based iPhone???

GV will cost around 1200/- No big disadvantages just a bit messy when u switch on your fone and after switching it off.....

locked iphone will sell upto 15k and unlocked 25k in 9.5/10 condition this is for 4 only not 4s as i think unlocked will sell upto 30-35k in market and open upto 40k...

You are totally confusing jailbreak and unlocking here. iOS 6 is not jailbreakable yet (untethered only. Tethered jailbreak is out for iPhone 4 running iOS 6), whereas, unlocking has got nothing to do with iOS. Most of the UK carriers are expensive to unlock but it is very much possible. O2 is for around 7000 I think.

I'll get back to this about T-mobile unlocking price shortly. Man, my honest advice is that get it unlocked and use it yourself.

As far as I know from googling, a jailbroken phone is unlocked too.

My brother purchased iphone 4, locked on O2 (UK), and wants to get it unlocked. Market guys here asking for Rs. 6000 and will take 1 week for that.

I'm afraid T-mobile cannot be unlocked.

The crack/jailbreak may be out in near future. But if one wants to start using it immediately, one has to pay around 6k - 7k.

I'll go for android any time of the day, but that's a separate debate and depends on personal preferences.

That's not an unlock my friend. Unlocking means that you can run any sim that you want to, other than its parent carrier (which the phone is locked too)

On the contrary jailbreak allows you to install cracked apps from sources other than the app store (Cydia, Installous or any other third party source).

quiet well explained.. jailbreak and unlocking is different.. one can jailbreak any ios device but not every device is unlockable.. what's the modem firmware version?
