PTV has some very special duties to perform, like they have to arrange any program to project govt present at the time. They need money for it and people of Pakistan pay for it. BTW I find it most confusing channel, at least we can some up the the private channels for whom they are working for but PTV its not possible, they themselves are confused, when PPP is in Govt Bhotto is hero and when its not he was a traitor.

those are just 35 rs in 90's the team from ptv used to check houses for Tv sets without Tv licence i mean its a TV not a Gun which needs licence so now that fee is 35 comes in electric bills

I have two meters at home ...and they charge 35 on both......btw govt. generate millions of revenue from PTV fee per month...where the f*ck they use it?

@cisco : prices have risen, u didnt count the salaries of thousands of people who work there. the amount they pay for the content. satellite rent.
And im sure industrial connections dont pay that 35rs.....

give me a break,
by selling their commercial time by seconds they earn millions.
if it is not sufficient for the salaries of their staff then PTV should have been closed long time ago.

if u have two meter in same building, go to nearest wapda office with copy of ur CNIC and written application that u have two meter in one building having two portions while one tv only in one portion. they will exempt ur one bill.its legal and i have seen many to do this and have done it for myself too..to do the process quickly, meet any one there and offer some CHAAH PANI....thats all.

The collection of the TV license fee through electricity bills was introduced by the Government of Pakistan through the Finance Act 2005. Pursuant to this, KE has been a collecting agent for the TV License Fee since May 2008.Under this Act, there is a simple procedure already in place for the elimination of the TV License Fee through submission of a self-declaration form at one of KE’s Integrated Business Centres.
