How to identify smuggled tyres

Recently bought Goodyear efficient grip performance from tire point thokar. Manufacturing date is 0323 and it is not tempered as seen in picture attached, the bead of tyres was perfectly round and fine but my friend said since it's not possible to import 2023 manufactured tyre right now so these tyres must be smuggled tyres. What do you guys think? I thought tyrepoint do not sell smuggled tyres

it was when there was total suspension of import by GOP for non-essential items. Figure out how it landed at a shop in Pakistan within 20 weeks of manufacture.

Yeah! Thats my concern if they can not be imported legally within 20 weeks than they must be smuggled. I should have realized this at the time of purchase

you paid for it. you have not stolen it neither you are involved in such trade. You are an end user imported or smuggled is not the concern of end user.

The duty of Government & the concerned offices is to manage border trade. Not of PW or any of their members.

am not sure why is that so much of concern to supposedly law abiding citizen PW members, who show so much concern & worried about imported or smuggled stuff as long as it is available in open market.

please try and not to lecture for patriotism nationalism to be tax paying citizen a filer.

Dude you really misunderstood my point. The issue with smuggled tyres is not about tax or custom. The real issue is the way they bring those tyres to the country. They put 5-6 tyres inside each other and during this process they beat the hell out of tyres. They twist them in like 8 digit shape and insert them inside each other and during this process the wireframe structure is destroyed.

In most countries, buying stolen and smuggled goods as end user is a crime.

As in

You buy such, means you are part of same chain.

Anyway, this guy is least concerned with laws, but more concerned with the after effects of jamming tires inside larger tires.

First of all you need to understand that end user in Pakistan don't smuggle or buy stolen Tyre. Tyre sellers sell these at full price as imported tyre which is called scamming. As an end user in other countries you are protected with consumer rights and you can file law suite in such cases, so your part of crime logic is absurd.

its a whole bunch of supply chain and let me tell you thats theres alot behind this.. a whole bunch of mafia and investors had millions of investments and storage across pakistan and its available almost everywhere under supervision of people who are responsible for controlling it

you can also calculate price and know how come this brand tyre is available for that price when $ is souring around 300+ with dty taxes RD and what not..2ndly it was almost complete closure on imports from SBP at that time of year.

Where i live, if someone buys stolen long life goods and somehow that chain of crime's exposed, guess what happens?

The end user/customer has to surrender them to the police, they are not compensated in any way, doesnt matter There is no safety net for such.

Only in Pakistan can you get away with such statement of end user is not liable if he/she wasnt told.

looks like re-stamped, Pictures i found on google for goodyear same format should be should used for the stamping next to it i.e JF7R, but in the picture you have posted stamping for manufacturing date is very different

sir in my opinion the circular midriff / bone of the tire is most important when checking upon condition. as understood from you tube videos the grey channel smuggled product of de-shaped midriff / bone tires are not sold as new. because there is no way the midriff / bone can be restored to kink free circular condition.

date is clearly tempered ! stamping should be in sync with rest of the text.
Date is only text that has a different borders around it.
