How to import a Toyota Belta from Japan

Assalam O Alaikum!
I got the chance to drive a toyota belta recently and I was amazed by the luxury and driving of this car. Now I want to import a car myself from Japan. NO DEALERS please because they keep high margins for themselves. Average price of belta is 400,000 - 500,000 PKR after importing to Pakistan, including shipment charges and car will be in port.

Now please advice that do I have to pay 100% custom duty and Value Added Tax extra? What about the gift scheme and no duty on sending to old people policy? also confirm can I import 2006-2008 Model or The car has to be atleast 5 years old not more than that.

Car needs to be max 3 years old. And your estimate regarding the price is too optimistic.

If you are not inclined towards a sedan, might aswell go for a Vitz or a Passo. Same engine, same comfort.

My range is 800,000 - 10,00,000 and My bank has levied restrictions on cars not older than 5years. I want a car urgently and my experience with Liana is bad.

About the price... I have decided to take a 2006 version which is avaible in this price

Sir what i meant was , you can't import a 2006-2008 model. You will have to buy a used one in that range.
Btw did you drive a 1000cc version or a 1300cc one ?

Both Actually.. Ten Years ago cultus was okay for our family but now We usually have to take 2 rounds to go somewhere... Dadi+Phuppo included... Transporting wheelchairs and their goods.. Liana I had sold last year

Belta wont be a feasible option for you.

1000cc one is underpowered, doesnt perform good with heavy loads.
A 2010 Belta will be rare to find, and might go excess to your budget.
Wouldnt recommend a 5 year old car to be kept for 8-10 more years.

Your budget is 1000,000 and u want to import a belta 1300 cc, are you kidding !!!
Only duty + transportation for a 1000 CC car comes around 550000, a 1000 CC will atleast cost 1.4 million. A 1.3 only duty is around 850000.
Maximum you can import 2012 model, not older than that.

He is talking about new imported belta and a 1000CC belta 2012 model can't be bought below 13.5 .

In local cars, you can get city or corolla but they would be old models so buy with care.

What about XLi or Gli in that range?
Suzuki Baleno 1.6 Gti imported is a very good car,I'm having it from 2001 (bought new) and it never gave any trouble , still have it , very good milage gives around 17 to 18Km/L on highway last yr had a tour on it from Multan to Abbotabad with same milage.
Only changed tires and usual oil n filter change. I'm still not willing to sell it even though my home is crowded with 8 vehicles
it's a shame they stopped importing it and thrusted crappy liana on us.

It's true you cannot import any vehicle more than 3 yrs. old ,IMO Govt. should at least make it 5 yrs.

Belta is a nice car ,check this ad it might be in your range if not already sold as most people do not remove or edit ads of sold vehicles.

I agree 100% Baleno was a good car but what to say about Pakistanis, they think they can buy Suzuki Sedans because they are cheaper and hand them over to local Mechanics. Liana was a good car until by brother accidentally gave it to a local mechanic when I was out of city.

About the Belta it was posted in august 2014 almost 5 months ago. AND that belta is a piece. been searching many beltas but loved this one.
