honestly there's nothing to laugh about. If your electrician knew what he was doing, he woudnt have suggested the zip ties in the first place. using zip ties will never hold the speakers in place, there will always be some slack due to which you will experience excessive rattles once the volume is turned up.
What is the issue your facing?
1) Is the cut out of the original 6x9 in the metal plate not big enough due to which the replacement speakers isnt fitting properly?
or
2) Is the replacement speaker too tall so that the stock plastic board isnt clipping back into place. Most aftermarket speakers have the tweeter placed in the center of the mid-bass driver (the stock speakers dont have a tweeter so the over height of the speaker is less as compared to the aftermarket one). Due to this, the stock speaker covers may end up hitting the tweeter and not fitting properly.
