I wanted to ask that when we have drag races I intend to launch my car in the following manner
1- hold the brake and press the acceleration pedal
2- let go the brake and continue to floor the car
So i wanted to ask that does it cause any wear and tear in the transmission or crank as I’ve hears from my friend that it does

front wheel drive car launch ? your engine mounts transmission mounts will brake apart. transmission and engine life will deteriorate three times faster then normal wear n tear.

you want to act macho on road buy a rear wheel drive mid size sedan restore it, stuff an inline 6 efi couple it to a 5 speed tranny with an LSD. reinforce suspension and go on track burn some real rubber.

front wheel drive cars are useless unless you have cash to burn for repair cost every now & then

those drag cars have a transmission brake too, it basically locks the driveline solid with first and reverse or an actual brake in the transmission. - the torque converter fighting the engine as engine is screaming away - and when the brake is let go so is the transmission brake and the car launches like a bullet.

People cheap it with a brake stand - which roasts the converter - and gently sends power on release. Doing that on CVT corolla would be "interesting" - I would pay Rs 500/- for the video.

hold car on brake, floor the pedal and hold engine to 3000 rpm for 20 seconds then launch.

One more thing i wanted to ask is the supercharger type kf sound that comes after we floor the car for some time and the sound starts to come around 4rpm

Dont do it.
The disposible CVT is not built for this.

If it could hold even half of this abuse, all the race cars or heavy haulers would have come with a CVT.

I didn't want to indulge in this healthy debate any further but since you are asking if I even read your post. Of course, I did read yours and all posts of other members too. And this scenario (of drag racing in a Grande with CVT) gave me a good laugh for some time. Xulfiqar was generous enough with his offer to pay you Rs. 500/- for making a video of this launch. Not my fault.

Senior members had already told you about the possible harms of this launch, but then you wanted to do it on Civic X, which according to you gives a sound like that of a Supercharger at 4000 rpm (when you had tried to launch it).

Anyways, best of luck with whatever car you want to launch. I have deleted my earlier post, you may flag this one too. I won't post here any further. Sorry for discouraging you earlier.

Regarding your statement about launch control cars being expensive do as the member above suggested. If you wanna be a real racer then get an older rwd car. Put in a big motor 6-8 cylinders and burn rubber. This is the way. Then you will also laugh at corolla civic wannabe racers

I dont know what he posted but i have always the sound the notion “baap ka maal hai” nonsensical. Yeah so what if its my dads car. In this economy i cant buy a car on my own with halal money (i studied from the best engg uni in pakistan and rn i am govt officer, still i cant even dream of buying even a new econobox like civic corolla). Most people drive cars from their fathers money. What’s wrong with that. Do they expect my father to buy them a car instead of me.

a lot of people cannot realize this. And riches are not measured in objects but peace of life. Ive always believed that if you are truly and genuinely honest with your skillset on which you earn a living from. Riches will literally find you and stick to you.

But that opens a compounded problem, All those riches are not yours either, They are deposited with you temporarily as a test.

Alhamdulillah my life is better than most. I mentioned that becoz my point was that i cant afford an avg car not due to my failings. I am smart and competent enough, my peers who went to USA can afford new german cars. I cant becoz i am stuck here So yes i cannot afford a decent new car because of factors outside my control no matter how hard i try. So i will utilise my fathers money. I am not burning it away. I am enjoying it. Thats what money is for.
If my father has no objection to my spending why do others judge me for it. (I actually maintain the car on which my dad bought for me) but if someone buys a gtr with his dads money good for him. May allah bless them even more.
