You forcefully pull on that chrome, you're gonna break it if its become brittle and that tape under it has hardened. That sharp edge will push into the paint while you lift up on the other end, scratching it. Its not about throwing the chrome strip away, it's about removing it the right way
I'm sure the topic of removing emblems and chrome parts has been covered hundreds of times on the Detailing forums here. You are an active member on there so suggesting someone to remove it by force isn't great advice
