How to restore 7th gen Eagle Eye Exi to factory specs

In the past few months I wanted to increase the power of my Exi but after using Pakwheels and reading a large number of topics and realizing how little information I have I came to the conclusion that I should try to first restore it to factory specs and learn about my car first. This is base model 2006 Exi (D15y3 non-Vtec Engine) with manual transmission. Mileage is more than 160,000 km. There a few small faults with the car. There is a small rattling noise in the dashboard on the passenger side. The car goes veers towards the left and no amount of alignment is able to fix it. The rubber bushings above the front shocks have small cracks in them. The gear is just a little bit hard. I think the valve clearances need to be adjusted. There are a few minor scratches on the car. Handbreak is a bit weak. I think it only has water in the radiator but how can I check that. Doesnt really lose any water.

I just replaced the manual transmission oil with Honda MTF. Got new lightweight rims. Oil is replaced regularly with oil and air filter. Tires were rotated from front to back.

Can any experienced users guide me on what I should and shouldnt do with this model.
Is it easy to adjust the valve clearances for this model by myself and what are the factory specs.

Very thing is possible. The issue are sharing, can be resolved. regarding the issue of car is going on left side. whats the tyre condition? facing the same issue few weeks ago. done alignment multiple times fom honda 3s ( dont really like 3s but they were had this offer to do it for free so, took car to them) couldnt fixed it. got changed left tyre to the right tyre and car was going to the right side now lol. hence, tyres issue.

Spend some time with good mechanic to resolve your issues.

What sort of power gain you're looking at? What's your budget? @ restoration, things you've mentioned are pretty easy and basic fixes.

Bhai if you can tell us where are you from may be we can guide you to the right person.

Also some basic info is required!
1. For how you have owned this particular car and what is the scheduled maintenance?
2. Have you personally have got the suspension overhauled?
3. When were the tyres last changed?
4. What is the over all condition of the wiring?
5. Have you ever had the car scanned and compression tested? If not get it done.
6. When were the brakes serviced last time. Were the pads around changed I am assuming its four wheel disk brake.

Bhai the thing is find the instructions manual for the engine Online. You will get to know the minute details like the valve clearances, sparkplug Gap, ignition timing. The more you read and try to do it yourself will save your money, your car and you will learn.

All the issues you mentioned are easily repairable some at DIY some need an expert but can be done easily. Let us start with making the car more reliable and safe.

I got the car in summer 2018 And got new tires and brake pads for it. I have driven it 20,000 km. Its been 100% reliable so far. I just rotated the front and rear tires when i got rims and had all of them balanced. I have been unable to find the manual for this particular engine as it was used only in pakistan and middle east. Oil was changed after 5000km all the time. Thing is that since i have some mechanics in my family i never took interest in its maintenance and just handed it to them for regular stuff.

Suspension was never overhauled as it never presented any probs. Recently the rear shocks started producing squeaking sounds after speed breakers. I have driven it a bit too hard over small irregularities and potholes etc. Wiring and compression test were never done but the car has never presented any problems etc. Mileage is 12-13 when driven with a very light foot and hypermiling but mostly i rev it a lot. It was scanned when it was bought but had no problems etc. Its my understanding that it doesnt have a lot of sensors and is barebones efi.

We discussed it in a previous thread and you said that since this nonvtec sohc small displacement there will be very little gains if keeping it N/A. Since this is my only car turboing it would be a headache and so best route would be a kswap. I am gonna try and save mucho dinaro for a swap or maybe change the car.

Pulling on left is very common issue with this car problem isnt with car design but with user getting "bara tair" (large wheels) and not getting alignment done from right place

If you have tyres of wrong size (larger) car is bound to pull on left with stock alignment

If you want a daily driver you can't rice it. Modified cars are not work horses they are toys for weekends.

It has all the sensors that it can log details with the ECU. You should get it scanned, have the compression tested and yes check with the best suspension hmguy available in you city.

Yeah I have been meaning to come to you but havent been able to find the time. Do you know the valve clearances ? I have been able to find those for D15B but I dont know if they apply on D15y3 or not.

Yeah there are no current plans to modify anything. Will save up and buy an older car for a project (Allah taufeeq day) This one doesnt have an O2 sensor but I will get it compression tested and scanned. If the check engine light isnt on is there a need to scan the car though?

You can get alot of data from the scan results. Which can give us some idea on engine health...

Also, did you go through the basics when you bought the car ? I means things that need to be changed when you buy a used car

I agree with you to some extent on that one...
The problem is that here in Pakistan, people don’t understand the readings of the sensors and hence can’t really understand what’s going on.
The electricians here are very unskilled and basically they stick to their old methods. Some advance OBD2 scanners support more search protocols than the others and provide readings from more sensors than the others and can actually provide a lot of information about the car’s running condition, in some cases it’s health too. For example, there’s a tool that tells about hybrid battery’s voltage(of independent cells)while others don’t.
So the gist of it is that we don’t have enough knowledge to interpret the readings and henceforth it’s safe to say that the scanner tells us a lot of things but we don’t understand it.
We are the people that say we are better off scanning our cars with the portable 800Rs scanner and find out about the code... that is when it pops up and you already have an issue with your vehicle.

Alright, i couldn't really seem to figure out your agenda in this comment but let me tell you this fella, I've been "mapping hondas", I've built engines in-house. And NO, these sensor won't tell you the absolute physical health of the engine.
