How to sell your car privately in Islamabad

Please can anyone guide on how to sell your car in Islamabad?
It is the first time I need to sell my car so would highly appreciate any advice on the process (documents etc). Also any suggestion on avoiding scams.

Once deal is confirmed, then first token money is given like 20K, 30K, 50K, etc. with an agreement that balance payment will be given in a 2 days, 3 days or a week time etc..

You need to arrange a sales-purchase deed on stamp paper with 2 witnesses.

Receive the money, give them car & its smart card.

May I know which car you want to put up for sale ?

P.S. if mode of payment is Cross cheque, P.O., Bank Draft, etc, then first let the payment credit to your account which normally takes 24-36 hours.

Your concern might be regarding receiving the payments. It is better to take money through a bank transfer than all other forms. After you receive confirmation from the bank about that transfer and can see it online in your account, you can proceed to give the biometric for the transfer of the car. Don’t take cash on spot until you have that banknote counter at your place. Moreover, bank drafts are also being made fake these days. So in my opinion, bank transfer is a much safer way.

Regarding sales-purchase deed on stamp paper, is it easily available from anywhere? Or, it needs to be prepared after receiving token money or payment? At what stage I need to have it prepared?

Also, how to make sure that once the car is sold the purchaser is responsible for its registration transfer and the seller wont be held accountable for any issue caused by the vehicle after the sale or before the transfer?

Agree, bank transfer is the best way or a draft until it is cleared.

The biometric you mentioned, is it something that needs to be done at a place or you are referring to the smart card?

I have friend in ICT who deals in Trucks only (fortuners, vigos, champs, invincible, prados, surf, lc, hilux, etc.). Every year he sells nearly 40-50 such trucks as his hobby.
If you want, I can share his contact details.
Just meet him alongwith your vehicle, he will have a look and will give you the buyer. Or maybe he will buy for himself.
He runs two fuel stations in ICT.
If you don’t know about documentation, then leave it to him. He will arrange everything by himself.

Have another friend in ICT who is keeping at-least 5 similar vehicles at the time and change every after 2-3 months. Can refer to him as well.

I am referring to the biometric. Give it after you have received money. Smart card is of no worth without biometric but it should also be handed over after receiving money.
And yes biometric is done to give the transfer of your car and can be done from specific places only.

Sure please. The car is in mint condition only around11,550 km driven and serviced by the dealer 3 times (1k, 5k and 10k).

Bank draft could be easily verified in 5 min from any branch of the bank from where it's made.
I don't think it will be much of a concern once verified from the bank. You can hand over the car to the other person.
