How to tell if IBS sensor for battery is OK?

I finally managed to find a used IBS sensor for my car's battery and installed it. But... how do I know it's actually working and doing its job and not junk?

I remember that a mechanic couldn't get any Amperage data before when he checked with his OBD scanner. I have an OBD that connects with the phone, but I couldn't find any option to get amp data or anything else associated with the IBS sensor to confirm it's working and isn't kaput.

Let me know if anyone knows an easy hack to check this.

Your handy scanner wont be able to get the amp data from the IBS, your dongle and application is limited.

For your ibs testing, connect a scanner and then apply heavy loads to the electric system. Headlamps, blower, rear defogger etc etc and pull up pid streams of

Alternator duty cycle
Ibs amp detection
Engine load

And see if the ibs is blind or working.

So I guess I'll need a proper scanner tool, which I can only find at a mechanic's. Problem is they don't listen to you for anything that goes beyond "ustaad masla batao kya hai" and if you just wanna check out a live stream of some data lol.
