[I]you need to get the vtec ecu first get a p2j ecu first so that you have the vtec kicking

isnt the p2m vtec ecu ?
there r different types of p2j like p2j-003 etc which exactly should i b looking for ?

and make sure you have a vtec head - some of the d16y8's came with vtec E what car is it?

head code is p2j-2 n its a civic ek vti oriel

Really impressed by your knowledge about cars..please can u help me on a issue i want my car just as fast to beat another civic reborn vti as i heard vti are faster than oriels due to more weight..some mods which i can guess are as Air intake down piping and exhaust..but i have no exact knowledge about these things that what should be the size of the piping exhaust and where will that fit because civic engine bay is a bit confusing..cant determine where are the headers etc etc..and also bro some one recommended me voltage stabilizer is it worth it on stock battery..

the p2j head is used by both d16y8 and d15z8 this cast of head comes with both Vtec and Vtec-e valvetrain configuration but becus your having a 2000 civic it should be pk6 vtec but then again the ecu u have is of vtec-e
so better get the 37820-p2j-j01 or any below "50"

[I]after getting the p2j ecu instal the CAI and go for a ride and listen if you hear any slight vtec crossover but remember do this test while using CAI without mufler exhaust and if you have any doubt - take two runs one with the solenoid connected and second without the vtec solenoid plug connect feel difference make sure your vtec is working the p2m comes with vtec-e thats actually not for power[/I]

[I]i can show you a way of making your car faster - victory is in the hands of a driver! if he is a better driver than you no mods will help you or if its the other way around you wont even be needing anything to beat him! race depends on many factors i-e
rims+tire size/weight
driver (the best launch the best shift)
traction(grip)
engine condition etc etc

get a cold air intake ill pm you the picture! that should add some performance and you may have a chance of winning! otherwise you can add header downpipe exhaust intake etc which should definitly make your car atleast 2cars faster!

[I]i can make up almost anykind of mini-me setup that your frnd desires but believe me if he wants to start off with only a cylinder head in hand.......then a big NO from my side
you can get around 8.8:1-12.2:1 compression by exchanging the d-series head/block combos
but the thing is all the parts the you would be needing will hit you with a very high tag for example
*a vtec block(let that be a d15/d16y8/d16z6/ZC etcetc)30k+
*all the engine wiring=4k
*all the sensors=God knows how much that really depends on you bargaining skills but just to give you a glimpse how costly it would be - only a map sensor/tps/iat/vtec solenoid will cost you around 5k do the math for the rest of the tiny winny remaining sensors i dont know how and who would give you all the sensors for a lesser price there in your city
*timing belt=500-800!? maybe
*gear=15-20k
*intakemanifold+injectors+fuelrail+fpr=8k
exhaustmanifold=5k

sum it up - and you will see this swap for around 70-75k
ask your self is it worth the hassel?

spoon bro: my bro bought plug wires for cultus recently from motorsportuk. They r 10.2mm thick wires and according to him they have ground straps as well. I haven't seen them yet and they will be with me by the end of this week. I was just wondering why are the ground connectors with the plug wires.

My guess would be that the grounding wire is actually wrapped around the portion of plug wire to ground any electromagnetic interference/noise/Radio Static caused by low resistance of the core.
