How to Verify Pay Order/ Demand Draft. (URGENT)

Guys hope u all are well.
Guys here is the Scenario.
Mr X is giving me a Pay Order of Xyz Amount. He Says He will give me a Photo Copy of the Pay Order/DD, and the Banks Business Card to Verify it and then after my Satisfaction, Will handover me the PO/DD.
My Questions Are.
1,Lets just say i got the Pay Order Verified by using my Sources. Is it Possible that the guy can get the PO refunded in Bank and give me a fake one?
2. When a Pay Order is made in the name of Mr Y. Can it be cancelled easily or needs sign from Mr Y?

Never accept a Pay order on Friday @muradi!!! There are many cases of fake pay orders, though the cancellation is a bit lengthy procedure, I guess the banks confirms from the favoured person first. You need to submit an application to the branch manager for cancellation.

Seconded..Verify it again during deposit.Make transaction only before confirming payorder.Better to check on spot and submit.

Duplicate PO/DD can easily be made. My uncle(VP of Meezan Bank) says never handover some thing(car etc) when you are given a PO since many people fraud these days. I've always asked the person who gives me the PO to wait 2 days and as soon as the bank verifies the PO I handover the thing to him.
