Humidity and Rust Oriel 2017 1.8 CVT

Hi everyone.

I purchased my first vehicle Civic Oriel 2017 today. However, after coming back with it, I noticed there was humidity in the trunk with some water on spare tire, a lot of moisture/algae type thing underneath the trunk mat and also noticed some rust starting to show on the tools. I saw somewhere here about Rust issues with 2017 model. I want to know how to take care of that ? If I need to go to mechanic, anybody can recommend in twin cities ?

Check for the boot seal and its channel. It rusts out, causing water to get inside boot. Dry the insides first, then pour water on bootlid area, open and inspect for the leak area.

Any car which has proper paint coating intact will have resistance to rust. If thats compromised, it will rust. Check the body, chassis and paint integrity of your particular car (or get inspected by any professional). Check if drain holes of doors are not clogged and accumulating water, chassis rubber plugs are in place, under carriage has not been destroyed by diesel/oil spray.

The car paint has been repainted as said by inspector. But the rust is inside the trunk base.

you had a useless inspector do an equally useless inspection service.

for starters, check your bootlid cover seal and the tail lights, you will need to get into the boot area, remove all carpeting and then check for leakage. You may need to use food colour to see the leak or a watercolour to see the leak.

I have checked it myself. The base of boot area has rusted with opening. Not sure how to fix it

and one thing i can guarantee
this car ages horribly
what you see is nothing un usual

Shoot some primer from a can on this and forget it.

Got it. What type of coolant and engine oil should I use for a complete flush ? I saw the honda recommendations from the manual, not sure if available in pakistani market
