Hunza and Skardu Tour in August 2022

Hey Pakwheelers, need your suggestion, we are two couples who want to tour Hunza and Skardu, can you guide which area to visit first Skardu or Hunza? Also a good itinerary is much appreciated

I’d suggest you don’t mix Hunza and skardu. Goto either place.

They are two separate routes and should be explored separately.

if the couples are little adventurous and you got some time then you may add fairy meadows with either one of them.

It will depend upon number of days. If you have less than 8 days (from Islamabad to Islamabad), then just stick to one place because it would become hectic travelling

Hi,

We're intending to visit Skardu in end of June. Since we have 9 days available, we'll be skipping Hunza side. This is how our tentative plan looks like

Day1 - Isb to Naran
Day2 - Naran to Astore
Day3 - Stay in Astore and visit Rama etc.
Day4- Astore to Skardu via Deosai
Day5, 6, 7- Stay in Skardu and visit surrounding areas like kachura lakes, cold desert, manthoka waterfall, khaplu etc. Currently we're in process of arranging a visit to minimarg. Not sure if it'll be confirmed though.
Day8- Skardu to naran
Day9- Naran to Islamabad

If your plan is confirmed, then I'd suggest to book hotel rooms prior to your travel. For example, I checked yesterday and Wazir Mehel hotel in astore is almost fully booked for June.

My humble suggestions are
1. to stay at batakundi or burwai instead of Naran on DAY1. I am 100% sure you won't regret if you opt it.

1. Kamran hotel 0323 5197299, 0333 5777234 is one of the better options available at astore.
2. if you get permission for minmarg, Please change your DAY-4 Astore to minimarg ( via Chilam chowki)
3. Day-5 will be from minimag/chilam chowki to skardu via Deosai

If minimarg is confirmed then ofcourse we're going to alter day 4 anf 5.

Batakundi is a good place to stay. but that's pretty cold at night and heating servuces are not adequate there. We have a little kid with us thesefore we have opted to stay in Naran at Sarai.
