Tesla is offering a lot of incentive. There is a 7500 tax refund plus state refunds which is on average 2000 plus. By end of year one can drive a Tesla from NY to LA with charging stations all the way.

bah - real drivers use three pedals. Come hell or high water.

For this Im currently hunting a 5 spd manual gearbox, driveshaft and pedalset for my mercedes E300D. The early 300E W124 were offered with this gearbox in very limited numbers so they are rare. BUT

The true greatness of this engine/car shows when its propelled by a manual gearbox, I would get even better mileage too. Currently Im getting on average 30mpg i.e. 20 gal = 600 miles (city+highway) the autobox in my car does not have overdrive and does not have a locking converter so Im doing 3000 rpm at 70 mph. I believe that I can boost it up to 32 or 34 mpg wth the manual. and a lot of fun to drive.

Heh, I am gonna start college this year, and not sure what to do in the future
