Hydraulic system uses less force at the input and gives a soft feeling. Further it efficiently enhances the resultant force at receiver end to get the operation done, hence heavy engines are mated with hydraulic clutch system. Mechanically wired system will need a very big lever arm consuming more space if used in bigger applications.
