Well yeh running car on electric motor is saffer but the conversion cost is too high.You have to convert it compeletly on electric.whereas HHO is hybrid no major conversions required an it is also cheap.All this argument is web search based,any one have firsthand experience please share.

No, all the arguments against HHO as a fuel arise from the basic laws of thermodynamics. The end.

thats very good.. but for such a project you need funds for research..

i think you should get some funds from HEC type organizations..

they use electrolysis to decompose the water into hydrogen and oxygen , H2 and O2....then these are burnt to make water again ,releasing the energy as heat....

problem is that it only releases the energy you already put in to decompose water into H2 and O2 in the form of electricity minus the inefficiencies of your fuel cell.

This means that a simple electric motor running on batteries will be more efficient , cheaper and lighter and also more reliable and would require lesser maintainance...

In short its useless for making fuel ( scam ). However, it can be used to manufacture pure water but then again, there's a thing called distillation that does it cheaper, and reverse osmosis that does it even cheaper...

Moreover a far cheaper way of manufacturing Hydrogen gas is cracking of oil.....and thats what is used in advanced green countries to make hydrogen i think...

If they had concentrated on "LAW of ENTROPY" in matric class, they would not have wasted energy & time on researching HHO

Burning of H & O can release only that amount of energy which was supplied while breaking the bond during electrolysis + some wastage.... "Law of conservation of energy".... More energy can only be gained in Nuclear reactions where matter is being destroyed.

i strongly disagree that its a scam. infact the law of thermodynamics apply only if the pure water is broken into h2 and o. since NAOH is used as a catalyst to ease up the process, much lesser energy is required to break the water as compared to normal electrolysis of water. breaking of water is not a difficult job. a single can of softdrink can make a car run for 3 miles. just put in can in diluted NAOH solution and you will get pure hydrogen. the only problem which i foresee in running a car on HHO is back fire as hydrogen may explode before entering into the chamber, however i strongly believe that the experiment must be done to check it efficacy.

i am working on it from a long time.for this purpose u have to make a fuel cell with 12v power supply with both + & - terminals.for making a fuel cell u have to use steel plates for making a fuel cell.i have make a proto type want to see it contact on my no.0333-5532550.Ch.Aamir.

It is workable but aiming for running the car 100% on hydrogen is not possible. The octane number does not exist for hydrogen, has high flame speed, no anti-knocking property.

but it can be mixed with cng or petrol to increase the mileage/efficiency.

there's another thread where such kits are mentioned for sale in rawalpindi claiming 35% fuel saving...

@asadghumman: even in nuclear reaction, matter is not really destroyed. Its simply converted into very high energy matter that is extreeeeeeemely small that we assume it occupies no space. Otherwise it is impossible to destroy matter.....

@ drifter: i thought catalyst only speeds up the process by reducing the activation energy required for the process to start.....
and moreover, cracking of oil producing H2 gas waaay cheaper...

I have also been working on designing a Fuel cell from a very long time and i used the best Stainless Steel 316L which is necessary for the Job i was able to power up my 2.3 Kv Generator(China) Purely on HHo but despite having safety precautions and bubler there was a backfire which exploded my fuel cell and Oh yeah that was one hell of a bang man so i backed out for a while to think for a better and safer way to do it

done extensive home work on this but end results for me were not very drastic along with the fact that cars are not built to sustain vapours in such amount and rot very easily. hence not practical.
looking forward to fords new car to go public it todays costs more than 1 million dollars and runs purely on water
