Civic has best handling and brakes.. Elantra has better handling than corolla.. brakes are okish.. But better than tuscon which has horrible braking

Yes news are there. Expect Hybrid one. But 1.6 discontinuation will hurt the resale big time..owners will be having hard time.. selling to upgrade.

Some quick questions since I am new to elantra or the other way around

Does GLS has steering lock, I tried rotating right and left and it did not lock, or does it has to be turned half way on either side to lock the steering ?

Secondly, is there a printed format manual for PK version ? Show room says manual is in soft form in the android unit. Or there is a downloadable version on nishat website which covers all features even not in PK version
This manual has a breaking in period mentioned of 1000 km of engine. I thought there is no need for this for all cars these days ?

How does the trunk opening smart mode work ? If I have the key with me and I come near the trunk, would it open ? What I have to do to open it without pressing button on remote or pressing the button on trunk monogram ?

Lastly there is a card in the glove compartment which says InstaScan by tracking world and has a QR code at back. I tried scanning it but opened a web site where I could launch a complain. Is it for after sale service or what ?

Elantra steering locks automatically/electronically once u open the door after putting the car in P.

Car has printed manual as well.

You can enable the smart trunk opening option in steering and MID controls.

Yes, that is what I read but show room people say not required and also other cars, Honda, Toyota also say not required. So confused. I have to travel to ISB in September too and of course constant speed will be maintained.

Its better to be careful during the break-in period, as the manual says it prolongs the life of the engine. I have personally experienced the engine smoothing out at 3000+kms along with improved mileage.

You can either complete the 1000kms before your trip or try to keep varying your speed. I did the latter with my Santa Fe as I had to travel before completing the break-in.
