has anyone had any trouble with the blend door actuators? a tuk tuk noise behind the steering wheel? and normal air from the right vent and cool/chilled air from the left vents?

I have a previous gen Tucson. Chilled air from the passenger side vents and normal from the driver side. Turns out my Evaporator had gone bust. Got it replaced. New one costed 76k.

If there is noise when turning the steering wheel then get your steering rack guide checked out. It's a uncommon issue but happens frequently to tucson's, sonata's and azera's.

Now even backlights have started getting faults. FYI headlights are seedha 2 lakh ka teeka because they are short.

Hello All

Hyundai has launched the previous generation Elantra (limited edition, 2.0) at 68.5lac ex-factory price with some minor upgrades. Placing it slightly above Yaris & City top of the line variants and way below Corolla & Civic.

Currently, I have a Corolla Grande 1.8 CVT 2016, and I'm considering upgrading from that to this limited edition version. Preferance is to attain a first hand car so no mind of buying a used sportage etc.

I wish to know about the build quality, reliability, drive, suspension, ground clearance, any known faults, and Pakistani's 2 famous questions: average & resale.

At the current launch price i think they target right timings as all top of the line city and yaris buyers shall move to this and it make it a value for money with all the features offered...
Personal opinion it looks good i will check out once the car is on dealership but hyundai quality was good enough in last models people drove 200k without any known issue

Go for it! I have a 22 model Elantra GLS. Build quality is great. So is the reliability, this engine and transmission combo also came in the previous gen Sportage, Tucson and Sonata 2.0 variant. Drive is very nice. Less body roll than corolla but more than civic. Same for ground clearance, less than corolla but more than civic. Rear leg room is less than corolla though. Still enough in my opinion. But less than the corolla. No known faults that I know of. The DRLs stop working in some cases but as far as I know that only happens to people that modify the horn. Average is 10 max in traffic with light foot. If you drive with a heavy foot you'll get around 8 (in traffic). On the ring road and motorway expect 13-14. Resale is definitely lower than its Japanese counterparts.

Suspension,groundclearance and reliability elantra doesnt even come close to grande ..the rear seat space of elantra is most congested out of grande ,civic where grande being the most spacious in rear seat area ..elantra has common fault of drl getting half or fully fused even tail lights i have seen elantra with half working ..tye fuel avg will also be less then grande beinga 2000cc engine with conventional auto transmission not the cvti but as it sits lower and doesnt have a speed limiter you may acheive greater top speed with little more stability if thats what you want else a fl grande is a much better purchase . Superior resale and market value plus strong dealer support that you already know of toyota ..i must agree how ever its the most lowest price sedan among the three so thats one attractive area and it has auto seats aswell so if you dont care about reliability long term you may go for elantra.

I see. I have seen a lot of users complaining about the DRL's, does hyundai change it under warranty if not voided? Secondly, how much does the dealership charge for the regular 5k km service?

They often die out just after warranty. A friend recently had his die in the month right after the warranty ended.

Since Hyundais are being driven in Dubai and Saudi as Taxis reliability isnt a question.

They might not be as durable as Corollas, But you are getting it alot cheaper too.

Also, This C segment sedan is way better then owning a Yaris or a City, Although from City it is still 0.7 million pricier but very close to Yaris 1.5

on road price will be approx 75 due to 350k WHT and registration with this on road price its just 5 lac difference from Grande so im not very confident to buy at this price point

What the on road price difference with a 1.6 Corolla? Or 1.6 SE Corolla.

WHT tax is adjustable in your income tax or incase you finance / Lease with Islamic banks they bear the WHT.

Since they get it adjusted.

Elantra is a sure shot by far the most sensible buy on the market at the price point. it is as reliable as corolla. much more premium feel than civic and loaded with features. car feels premium and will serve you better surely.

FYI. Drls went bad on every elantra in my circle. One light costs 2 lakh. Impacts resale as well. A defect costing 4 lakhs means it is not so reliable after all.
