In Australia, the i30 had three variants. The 2.0, the turbo 1.6 and i think there was a diesel 1.6 also. Elantra was taken as a sedan version of i30. While Elantra didn't have a diesel version, yet it could be fitted with a 1.6 diesel engine. Elantra couldnt capture the market from Civic or Corolla or even from Mazda 3. While Kia Cerato offered more features than Elantra in a lesser price with same capabilities in engine. It was just the 5 star ANCAP safety rating where Elantra got ahead of Cerato.
Since Pakistan's market is full of surprises, so keeping fingers crossed regarding Elantra. A bit more hopeful if Cerato is launched.
