We wanted this beauty and instead we got this ugly rat faced thing...if they wanted to bring an older gen they couldve gone with the one that people actually wanted to be seen in.

People would have also opposed that and why shouldn’t they? They are paying so much money on a car at least they would want to spend it on a car that is up to date
They should have brought the newer generation or some small crossover like creta it would have been much better

if it was older gen elantra in 1.6l engine, same features as yaris,in 2.9-3.3m pkr, it would have killed off Altis 1.6 , Yaris 1.5 , City 1.5, some of Civic & Grande. But Hyundai as usual has gone down the greedy lane. Now this elantra has nothing to offer, ugly design exterior and cheap interior, higher token tax, low mileage expected, price bracket makes no sense as the market in this bracket is going for crossovers.

2. Bringing an older generation is cheaper because you can get all the leftover inventory on the cheap as well as the dye casts for that particular model. Tooling the factory with used materials is much cheaper.

Had Hyundai got any sense, they should have gone for older gen and smaller engine with frills and features that made it the top seller in US.

For instance once 11th gen civic is launched will you want to buy civic X just because it looks better? I mean 11th gen will overall be a new car with new technology and will you still promote the 6 year old civic?

I said it looks ugly, and if you check the links, majority of buyers and car enthusiasts agree Hyundai is losing its design flair.
I did not mention technology, pakistani market has been devoid of basic features that were available even in the 90s era cars.
You expected major changes in technology within 3 years? its still the same engine and drive train. if the size of android tab glued to the dashboard is your reference for haigh tekknology,, what can I say.

I agree it may look ugly but the design is not the only thing that is important
The car you are talking about looks old when you see it the Elantra we have doesn’t look old even when it’s ugly it does look up to date
You are saying that they should bring an older car then the already old car they are offering ?

Latest elantra could have only come as CBU as pakwheels article suggest that CKD kits are not available yet.

Whether this elantra will fail or not , only time will tell. Hyundai do not have that level of localization toyota and honda have at the moment in pakistan so it was not possible for them to bring this elantra any cheaper than this given all the taxes and duties.

Looks is a subjective matter , we may see a lot of polarization on this. Its not as good looking as civic , but IMO its not ugly either.

Not angry at you bro. angry at these morons in Hyundai leadership that think they can pass off hyundai as a premium brand and price it as such. Hyundai has pulled itself out of the garbage brand image by providing best featured cars at lower rates. at no point hyundai was premium brand. its still not premium today. why did they think can scam pakistani people by bringing santa fe at 2.5 crores.. or this C segment sedan at 4 million plus....
while putting hyundai in its place , do they think we dont know their engine blocks are weak? or that their gearboxes break all the time. they are nowhere near in reliability to toyota in the world. thats why they give 7 years warranty just to sell their cars. Now they have the audacity to challenge an established brand in this market by putting out a car thats more expensive... no onroad presence no dealer support, no parts availbility.

I agree with you on that who will buy an older generation Korean car that looks that ugly over a cheaper better looks Japanese civic
Hyundai nishat tried to market themselves as a premium brand I mean in a market starved for cheap cars they should have brought cars like venue i10 i20 etc
The future doesn’t look very bright for them really they have been badly hit by Sportage and HS in the crossover segment and are very soon going to be demolished by the upcoming generations of corolla and civic in the sedan segment where already they are threatened by civic X

We can’t say this Elantra dated because this FL is more like a new model. The pre FL 6th gen was smaller in size so 2019 FL changed the entire stance of this generation.

its a good looking car and has modern styling ... the real example of outdated is sorento. Anyways 700 elantras are booked in two days and mostly by end users so its not going anywhere. Its a good third addition in sedan market and people still like sedans here.

Thousands of Tucson were also booked BUT statistically its infront of you.. where is it on the road? Elantra delivery is late September now and this is not the success .for me booking is not success .. success is the delivery of the vehicle , I mean unfortunately its typical for all PKDM.

Soon you will start hearing rumours about 12th generation Corolla and it will not help Elantra if the deliveries are pushed 6 months mark.

tucsons are quite visible on roads . And deliveries are late due to covid as parts are not coming from korea.\

and corolla/civic also have 6 months waiting time so this waiting time is norm here

Actually Hyundai is going towards Stealth design concept. Soon this car will become invisible (to radars).

I think less then 100 of these will be a actual users others will just be investors who will sell these cars at premium prices later on
Sorento might be outdated but doesn’t help the fact that Elantra is outdated too and being an older gen Korean car at higher price then a current gen civic doesn’t sound good to me

First Hyundai Nishat imported pre fl Elantra which was smaller in size and looks so much dated.

Now compare it with pre FL. Looking more like a new generation

Well after being in the market for 7-8 months you should expect a car to be visible on the road a true success is visible instantly on the roads just like the case with Sportage was in which is was evident that it’s being sold
I have personally seen more MG Hs then Tucson on roads even when Hs is imported and has had trouble importing their cars

personally i see more tucsons on road then mg and secondly you cant compare imported vs assembled. lets see how quickly mg rolls out local hs which to me is impossible as of now
