So what are your opinions? (Minus looks because they are subjective)

Is it a good offering in this price or not? The 2.0 whose price and features are known.

And those who have visited, how is the rear space? Is it more cramped than Civic? Is it a 5 people car?

Here, we (at least I) want the car to be reliable and faithful, it should serve the owner and not the other way round. I like that it has a 2.0 NA engine so light foot and no need to push, and also should work fine on our fuel. 6 speed automatic (no DCT or CVT) should also last long. People in this thread who live abroad and have seen this car for sometime will be able to better comment on its real-world reliability.

Hyundai/Kia are not premium brands, at least not their regular models. Hyundai Genesis is another story where they are trying to enter the luxury market. Rest are as I'd say, normal use cars. Reliability, longevity, space, utility. If they are present, the cars should do fine. If there is occasional power with the 2.0 litre engine, even better.

It's expensive, that's one.
I have seen the last 4 gens on Elantra in my own street, their owners are always satisfied so I don't think that reliability is an issue. However mostly people buy the 1.6 here as it is wayyy cheaper than a rolla. Once someone has enough money to buy a rolla they'd buy a rolla.
Elantra is also the most used taxi car so it speaks volumes about it's longevity.
I know there are fire recalls on this car but I haven't witnessed or heard about one in KSA.

But the bug issue in Pak is the price, it's higher than rolla and civic, that's almost a blasphemy by nishat.

I have a feeling this car's reputation in terms of fuel economy will make it a great success... or failure.

If the 2 litre and six speed auto can do about 10km/l in the crossovers, and this car being lighter and more aerodynamic can outperform them in terms of mileage, then that will be a great point for this car. Also it may be as quick to 100 as the Civic Turbo (relaunched version). However lets see how it performs in the real world!

I second this, Altis 1.6 is the best value sedan in the country. Parts availability, durability, size, ground clearance, performance and resale, perfect in every way.

Unless you're a spoilt racer boy I see no reason why anyone would consider throwing away their money.

From practicality aspect, Altis will probably last you a generation

...but even still, Kia with their sportage stole away sales from Altis, since it's a CROSSOVER which lifts people up from the road, gives them a bigger feel. Even though its fuel avg compared to Altis is bad, so its not a deciding factor at all... Tough times ahead for Elantra...

I agree with some people here.. another crossover introduced around 4m would have made sense. With a better delivery time ofcourse

well fuel average of crossovers is worse compared to both Civic and Corolla so I don't think it matters whether Elantra can outperform crossovers average. It should, at the very least.

And 41-42 lac price seems too much, would be too close to Sportage Alpha. Needs to be under 4 million to grab some headlines.
