I agree to your point 100% when it comes to previous generations of Civic as I have myself experienced them to be way less reliable than a Corolla. But when talking about Civic X, I personally own it for the last 4 years and haven't even visited the workshop once for anything other than daily maintenance.
I'm totally not a honda fanboy as I have always been a big fan of Toyota SUVs and personally prefer Yaris over the current City but there is something about the Corolla that makes it incomparable with Elantra and Civic X.

U are one lucky person, i must say. I was a honda fan boy, but thanks to civicX, i moves to corolla for the 1st time, and I doubt if i will change brand, unless honda offers quality. Grande transmission alone impressed me, so sticking to it. I hope we get better 12 th soon, and i m more than ready to switch

My experience is, not just in current Civic X, in previous Honda generations too there has hardly ever been a visit to workshops for anything other than maintenance. And I'm talking about my experience with City and Civic since 2006. Honda engine is one of the most reliable engines globally. It is meant to last for decades.

civic x, civic 8th, and 2005, city 2014 model. only two times went to workshop other then oil change / denting.

1. steering assembly change (civic, done under warranty)
2. timing belt of civic 2005 ( i forgot to change and it broke at 159000)

Civic has some pretty hard and pretty cheap plastic too it's just covered in leatherite

Anyone have an update for deliveries of June? A friend of mine had got June as delivery month from Hyundai South after booking at launch. He had paid the balance payment back in May before Eid and was comitted the vehicle will be delivered in last wk of May.

Now as per the dealership rep, they are saying deliveries are badly effected due to parts unavailability, and expected delivery could go to Nov/Dec. He has got an option from dealer to cancel the order & received full payment back.

Is it the dealer who is playing tricks ? or there is an actual production constraint ?

parts unavailability is a very real thing, specially for those cars which are still using majority imported parts.

entire supply chain has been disturbed.

Combined i got 8+ on RON 91 in Australia on 2.0 Elantra

The shortage is mostly for Tucson.
Last I checked, the deliveries of Elantra were on track.
He should check with a couple other showrooms their delivery update, as well as the headoffice regarding the status, only then can he truly know the situation.

Nishat is confused on 1.6 elantra ... it isnt feasible for them. Let's see what they do

just need a brief suggestion. should I go for Elantra or instead go for civic/grande? I need an opinion based on the company's customer care and reliability. please guide. thank you

Elantra has quite a number of features additional on corolla and civic like quad led projector head lights, welcome door handle light, lumber support and 155 hp. I think its the best of the lot with quite alot better interior than the other two. If only Nishat had priced it 200k less it would have been an easy pick. However even at current price it makes the most sense. M myself considering to get it. MAY ALLAH TALLAH give us the wisdom to make the right choice IN SHA ALLAH

Yes, but the solid rear axle is a big turnoff. The seats of PKDM Elantra are as bad as the local Civic and Grande. I would go for Grande between the 3 of them.

i think corolla has the same rear suspension.

Yes it has the similar torsion beam design but it doesn't share the same fate as Elantra.

Yes, that's why I said Grande is better as it has same suspension setup and is a lot more robust and reliable. I don't see any value in Elantra if it's going to have a crappy rear suspension and the same uncomfortable seats as the current PKDM cars. Also, the seats of Grand Carnival (still a CBU) are much much better than the seats on the PKDM Hyundai and KIA cars. Very comfortable and cushiony. Local seats are just pathetic and very stiff.

on paper elantra is much more equipped and better car if u consider warranty too.
