Commiserations to Elantra owners and potential owners. Elantra was making a name for itself but now it will never be a popular car. Only Hyundai could come up with such a ridiculous price hike, how do they expect anyone to pay 200k extra over Grande for an Elantra? Delusional.

Had they kept the price at the previous level; the sales would have increased significantly but now almost no one in their sane mind will keep Elantra as an option..

Somehow from Day 1 HNMPL doesn't seem keen on benefiting the general public..

KIA has definitely done a much better job and is well on the way to become a big player in our market...

Pakistanis badmouthed corolla and civic and their assemblers. But aik bat manani paray ge. Even after so many new models and crossovers and what not, these civic and grandes still hold the top tier position in terms of reliability and price.

Funniest part is Nishat charges 10% on cancellation vs 2% from big 3:). Tabdeeli kafi achi lag rhi ho gi qaum ko. Corolla/Civic kay equal elantra nhn bk rhi thi.aur ab corolla se uper....need to pay tribute to that person who wants this suicide.

just that there should be parity in prices. we are getting looted by all manufacturers irrespective.

Is it only me or Elantra feels smaller compared to Civic and Grande, although it is comparable/larger than both Civic and Grande in dimensions. Anybody else feel the same?

Sir may be ho gi. But then why hyundai all over the world never sells above the price of corolla/civic? Civic is expensive now in most countries so lets keep corolla as reference. It started selling well when price got lower. Now it wont sell again only existing customers who are stuck will buy. Grande will sell even better as it was already selling pretty well. With 4 cars in my circle now, i can safely say its a good car, it used to be better value but it never was a better car at even same price. Increase will hot sales negatively unfortunately

Reason are:

A) Increase in demand
B) Honda civic X is no more available and assumption is its going way up from 4 million bracket
C) Grande is an old (gen) car in Pakistan

i believe people will still go for Elantra even after price hike

Elantra itself is old generation. Newer generation is already in market from the last 1+ year.

The other parts of the world are not under imf regimes, they can put their price as per their will. Elentra prices are very near to corolla on -ve end but due to the economical conditions it has now crossed corolla here in pakistan.

Also civic prices are not near to corolla in other free will countries.

Civic is expensive than others in its class worldwide. Does imf only applies on elantra?

I don't know why people do not understand this simple concept.

If there are two cars and one car is 30% cheaper internationally (in same market). Now the same cars are in Pak so again same Pak market (same taxes, same IMF and other bullshit). The car should still be 30% cheaper. Both cars will get expensive BUT the 30% price difference will not change. It's not about their actual price, its the DIFFERENCE in the Prices of these cars.
