Audi has introduced its E-Tron, a fully electric AWD SUV. Although it is a CBU, and will never be produced locally not within the next ten years (as it seems / as far as I know). It has an attractive price tag, it is said that fifty orders were placed the first day of unveiling in Pakistan.
Therefore, it seems that EVs still have a strong potential in the Paki market. You see that Pak has no Rapid Chargers anywhere, yet people still ordered E-Tron, maybe because the electric range is sufficient for most buyers as it fits within their daily commute and the car can be charged at home overnight.
I agree that the big three should be the ones to take the lead of bringing EVs in Pak. Although, none of the three auto manufacturers have EVs in their global counterparts.
As far as I know, Toyota is busy converting their existing cars into hybrids cars & developing fuel cell hydrogen cars. Honda has put Honda E --a small hatchback-- into production. However, it is expensive as it lacks a significant amount of electric range. For Suzuki, I don't think they are onto anything.
Hyundai should take note of this, Kia, as well, mainly because they have those crossovers Hyundai Kona & Kia E-Niro, which could be affordable for most buyers in Pakistan. Hope it is comprehensive.
