Hyundai Santro Engine Check Light Problem

My Hyundai Santro Plus 2002 Model, Is Original Petrol, no security system, nothing at all, simply original
The Check engine Light is actually for.... to turn On for 2-3 seconds when we first start the ignition switch And then Wen off So that we may Start the Car.

My Problem;

Only At Morning
When First Time I Switch my car's ignition switch On
The Orange/Yellow Engine Check Light Does Not Turn On
After few tries and waiting for long the Check light Turns On Itself

What could be the problem ?

One More important thing is
once the check light is On
then no matter how many times you switch Car On or Off
The Check light Works Perfectly

The problem is only at the morning on First Start
Please Help !!!

Battery is almost New

I Took My Car to Mechanic + Electrician

He opened my gear Box/Hand-break area Checked All the Connections From Relay
Checked Fuse
Checked battery Terminals
Checked ECU wires
Checked Sensors

Everything was fine and perfect

Actually the problem is as i said once it is started
And remain well through out the day
So in front of Mechanic It works 100% fine

The thing which is causing this Engine Check Light problem is only at morning (cold)
once the current goes to the ECU (the check light turns On)
It never make problem again in that day

Can't really find out the exact problem

Cars will start even if the check light doesn't light up. Just turn the key.

However, if you experience a no-start condition even after turning key until the CEL lights up, then first things to check are ECU fuse (is it seated properly and not loose?) and the ECU relay (its coil might be near death).

Check battery terminals are fastened properly, fix the ecu fuse and replace the ecu relay. These might solve your issues.

When I move the key to ignition, all indicators turn on.
The following indicators switch on EVERY time I turn the key to ignition:
a) Engine oil pressure
b) Battery/alternator
c) Brakes
d) Check engine

BUT NOW
[/LEFT]All other Lights Turns On
BUT
[LEFT]The CHECK LIGHT Doesn't turn on at all
So car does not get started

Car Doesn't Start until the Check Light Turns On

My Mechanic Checked The Relay , Coils ECU Connections with his tester
And they were all perfect.

He also checked The Battery and its terminals too
Fuse are also tight and in working condition

Moreover my mechanic said that
Agar Battery ya Terminals ka Problem hota to har start mein problem karte car
sirf subah k waqt nai
Kyn k aik dafa din ko start kar k meine 9 hours car ko band rakha
and again 9 hours baad On kiya to check light bilkul theek On hoe

Seems as if your santro sleeps very peacefully

Have you tried the Pakistani totka? Banging on the dash around the meter etc when the light doesn't switch on. It might help to narrow down any loose connections in the cluster.

I am still confident that it has something to do with a bad ecu relay. Once the relay heats up adequately, it might become operational. And when it cools down during the night, it goes back into its faulty state.

So still couldn't figure out k masla kahaan hai

I bar bohat confident ho k mechanic k pas gya k iss wire to hilao to light On hote hay
and i was embarrassed when he eplaied k they to Tape ki wire hay

Kuch Months pehlay meine ECU mein processor replace karwaya tha
But mechanic saying k ECU mein problem ho to car har start pay check light ka masla karay

Problem he samaj nai aa rahe

If banging on the dash switches on the light (even though its a new position every time), then try to open up the odo cluster and have the wires accessible so when you switch on in the morning you can move the wires around and see if any specific wire makes a difference.

Have you checked the connections with the ecu? Are any wires at the grips in a bad state? Are the grips seated properly?

My Mechanic Opened Up all the Gear and hand brake Area
Checked Relay and every wire with his TESTER
And he also checked ECU connectors
Tightened them

He checked the grip, point , fuse ect evrything

The problem is the Check light remains wonderful after the morning start
So Mechanic itni taawajo he nai daita
Kyun k u k samnay sab perfect kaam kar raha hota

Meine Mechanic ko 1 raat k leyai apni car b de
But i think wo raat ko isko use karta raha
aur next day Subah uss say sahe start ho gae
So again laughed and said k koi masla nai hay apki car mein

Usnay mje kaha k meine jo processor replace kiya tha uska tanka utra huwa tha
wo meine lga diya hay , ab nai karay ge Check light problem

So i brought my car back to home
but next day same problem

Check light 5-6 seconds k baad ON hoe hay

Thinking to take my Car to the Hyundai Showroom (workshop)
Will it help?

I am worried because i heard that they are too expensive , even for checking they charge huge amount of fees
and in the end they say k sab new daal lo

May be they will say k Relay , Fuse , Grip , ECU sab new daal lo, theek ho jae ge

What do you say?

Its your call. I think its an intermittent problem and can only be diagnosed in the morning.

Tell you what, when in the morning the check light does switch on, dont start the car. Switch it back off and take out the key. Wait 10 mins and then put the the key back in to see whether the light behaves the same way it does at first key in the morning or otherwise.

Kabi 2-3 seconds baad to kabi 5 minute baad to kabi 4-5 ghantay ki mehnat k baad

What do u say taking my car to Hyundai Showroom (workshop) is worth ? and will it help?
Are they certified mechanics ?

but confused that are they only good at charging money or even good at checking and pointing out the error (problem) in the car :/

Pehlay ignition Switch say Current Relay mein jata hay, us k baad ECU mein jata hay?
I want to ask k agar ECU nah b lga ho to relay say Click ki awaaz aae ge On ignition ?

Ecu usually has two power sources. One is constant live to keep its memory alive. The other power source actually switches on when your ignition switch feeds power to the ECU relay. The relay in turn feeds power to the ecu.

This is what I said about checking the relay. Check whether its giving any output the first time you turn the key in the morning. There should be no delay in turning the key and powering ON of the relay.

Actually when switch on the ignition key
There is no sound of the Click from the relay (under the gear area)

So i am thinking that Ahsan you are right
may be the relay is expired now

That's why i wanted to know that in-case there is problem in ECU, would the sound of Click still be heard from the Relay ?

Because i have a doubt that my ECU is bad

Relay only supplies power to the ecu regardless of whether ecu is there or not, or working or not.

You might not hear the click from under the dash/gear area. You should expose it and listen to it closely as soon as u turn the key first thing in the morning till the time the check light comes on. If its a late first click then relay = faulty.

A relay isn't that expensive. Maybe around rs200 at most.

But I can hear that Click sound as soon as the Check light comes on

So I have a doubt that no current reach the relay
and it reaches after some try and some time

So no current from Ignition switch to Relay

May be bad relay or Bad Coil

Some of my friends saying that may be my ignition switch is bad
But All other lights (battery, breaks ect) comes On in the car means there is no problem of the switch
What do you say ?

I will insist my mechanic to change the relay
actually he checks with his tester and say that it is perfect
as the check lights works wonderful infront of him

Change the relay, if it doesnt solve ur problem the try resetting ur ECU... Remove the battery terminals for a minute and then put them back again.. That will reset the ECU and sometimes it works
