I never questioned Sonatas reliability.

I’m just stating my personal opinion and what made me go against it. Has nothing to do with whether it’s reliable. It sure is.

Not all Mercs are used as taxi in Germany. And it’s not the most common taxi either.

I've lived in Germany for 14 years with on and off trips for another few years, the W212 E class was the most common Taxi you would see (this was surrounding Frankfurt) . Mind you, the taxi spec is vastly different from the consumer versions, and the locals that would get into the consumer spec would be amazed at the differences. Similarly, the Sonata used as a Taxi spec feels so different with their lack of an infotainment system or a teeny tiny one, fewer speakers, its 16 inch wheels and cloth seats that I would not be able to to compare it to the PKDM model. The most common taxi I have used was the last gen Camry and I would still swoon over its drive.

Nonetheless, you not liking the Sonata is perfectly reasonable, just wanted to point out the differences in taxi specs!

Am thinking of getting a new 2.5.
Wanted to know the limp mode issue is still there in current sonata's 2.5 ?
Any other issues one should be aware of?. My current ride is Civic X turbo.

I'm assuming you are talking about the 2.5 and not the N-line 2.5. Limp mode issue can occur at any time, dealership are cleaning throttle body after every oil change now to solve this. Sounds like a way to cash in more money, probably every second oil change was plenty.

Any other issues one should be aware of?

The tyres are very thin due to the large 18 inch rims. While it looks better, they are not the most comfortable in the world and make me feel every road imperfection. The car is quite front heavy and given its fwd nature you will experience some slipping if you try to corner hard at higher speeds (traction control ensures safety though). The car will be a bit slower than your current Civic turbo and may handle worse, but it is a silky smooth ride

Yes, inquisition was regarding non N line.
Oh, it'll be a tad slower than Civic turbo .
Thanks for the heads up. I'll explore other options as well.
As I really like the drive feel of my current ride, I know it has many cons, but for me the drive feel is important.

Need expert opinion is there a chance of Sonata 1.6 Hybrid favelift model being launched in Pakistan anytime soon ? I loved the newer facelift but really dont want to go for N line and neither any crossover like Sportage or Tucson.

Currently only 2.0 is available globally in hybrid configuration. Very unlikely Nishat would bring HEV in Sonata since product placement would be a challenge.

This may be a weird question but what is the most amount of fuel you guys were able to put into your tanks? Nishat states 60L fuel tanks but I have heard of family members putting in 70L in their tanks.

both Hyundai Clifton and Hyundai Sharea-Faisal told me you can get Sonata N-line within 15-20 days, this was last month. Did they gave you any delivery slip?

I'd pick a Sonata but this is really a preference thing. The Jolion has more tech and features, but personally I REALLY enjoy the 2.5 liter NA engine with its immense low end torque. Keep in mind that the Sonata is running on really thin low profile tyres due to its big wheels which makes you feel everything on the road, so if you are often traveling on broken roads the Jolion will give you more comfort.

If you don't have much use for the back seats by often traveling with 2 or fewer I would probably suggest the Jolion too though, the running costs are most likely cheaper and a new car has its own charm.
