Latest generation product of Hyundai group. According to people who have tested this. It’s really comfortable and amazing to drive. Competes with big Japanese sedans.

Definitely will be a hot seller then as price will be lower so finally we will be able to get a brand new mid size sedan whose price would be manageable for people unlike Toyota who sells Camry at a comparable price to an e class

Having said what i said about pakistanis’ love for mid size sedans, i think Sonata will only do well if priced right. If they use imported Accord and Camry as a reference point then they can kiss their dream of breaking into the market bye-bye.
Sonata doesnt even come close to the reputation of Camry and Accord in Pakistan.

Besides isnt Sonata priced almost the same as Tucson ans just a bit higher than Elantra everywhere else? Why are we expecting it to be 1.5x Tucson and 2x Elantra? Just beacuse theres no competition?

Nishat will not price it close to their own product to cannibalize Tucson. That's why I mentioned din my blog that the segment in Pakistan is decided by the price bracket. Nishat seems targeting 7 to 8 million bracket with Sonata.

BTW, no matter how good the Sonata is, as far as USDM, which is the largest market for Accord, Camry and Sonata, Sonata is #3 on the sales chart. Although every car depreciate in US, Hyundai is worst and Camry and Accord hold their prices for much longer.

Hyundai Nishat will again do what they have done all along. Price it way higher than what it should be without caring for sales volumes. After all Hyundai is a 'premium brand'.

In case of Sonata, I suspect the key temptation for Mian Sahib behind its launch is the insane price of Accord and Camry in Pakistan. So he would want to milk it for sure. Although globally, its price is similar to Tucson, but Mian sahib will launch Sonata at a price at least 10-15 lac premium over Tucson price as his reference point is Accord/Camry price. So yeah, 7-8 mln is a possibility knowing Nishat and their 'premium' worldview.

bracket of 60-65 is ideal for massive sales for sonata. 5 year old A4 and A3s are on sale in this price bracket as well on pakwheels.

Sir, we can't compare US pricing and Tucson vs Sonata. Complete different dynamics. Like the PKDM Sorento is around $55000. The feature and options and 3.3L varaint even with AWD is around $34K max [ with more features] and the US version has AWD too. A PKDM Sorento is easily $15000 more. Sportage and Sorento pricing overlap as well.

So, seems like 6 to 7 million for base Sonata and around 8 million for fully loaded PK Domestic model. As I said Mansha sahab target is Accord and Camry.. he dont care how high the price go over Tucson.

Elantra pricing vs Tucson is another example.. both have identical pricing in US.. in Pakistan, Tucson is Million to 1.5 million more... even we apply same formula, Sonata starts at 7 million ..
