Just received a call from them, they are asking if i could pay the full amount in couple of days they can deliver the car in August. I said no i can breath till Sep without this car.

the size of midsize sedan is perfection. But normaly sonata starts at the same price as that of tucson. atleast the 2.0 version shoulf have been the price of pkdm tucson

in pakistan they do not expect to sell too many and the assembly lines and new plant they use for newer different model are very expensive. They have to make it even first.

last time i was listening to an interview of indus motors CEO , he said with a new model they have spend around 6 billion rupees first. Pakistan is a small market , honda declared their profit of around 1.6 billion last year which is peanuts.

toyota score 4.8 billion(after tax) in first six month of last fiscal year. Its a small market.

The charges for the registration taken initially are definitely good news. We should discourage the OWN mafia as much as we can.

But unfortunately the quality surprised me. Felt way worse than an imported accord I saw in a Honda showroom.

Some of the hard plastics in sonata literally felt like something you'd see in a mehran.

Felt the same way when i first saw the Elantra in person.

Didn't feel much bigger inside than the Elantra either.

Good observation. I think most pakistanis will be in for a rude awakening with this one. Because for us the mid-size sedan is some mythical super luxury limousine. Mostly because we were denied of them for so long and the imported ones were ridiculously priced.

Seems like it should've been max 55 lakhs for the base model.

The base model costs a "yaris" more than Elantra yet carries the same engine, gonna be really underwhelming with that huge body. This car didn't need to be more expensive than tucson but it'll probably sell because people here usually are more interested in what's on the outside (for showoff).

The performance with the 2.0 isn't too bad. 10.5s 0-100 and 200kmh top speed according to some numbers I've seen. But I'm willing to bet it'll fail just like the Elantra. There's very little interest for it.

There’s no denying this is an amazing vehicle

I think it’s priced fairly. It’s a 2021 current gen shape, which will still look modern 5 years later just like civic X

Only thing I wish this car had extra was adaptive cruise

The car's price should only be compared to its rivals in Pakistan not what it costs abroad. Accord being offered here also has the same engine as the Civic Turbo but still costs more than double its price.
In the case of Tucson, I think Sonata is miles ahead in every aspect and there is no way it should be priced close to Tucson (I have personally booked Tucson so totally being unbiased here).

If Nishat can manage their supply demand and dont increase the price within the next 12 months unless due to dollar fluctuation. This car would be a big hit and will dent the crossover market. Especially the market of Tucson(cannibalisation), MG and sportage.

All in all good entry in Pakistani market.

Went to a showroom to check this car out. Man it’s hard to believe something like this was assembled in Pakistan. What a fantastic car for 6.4 million. Nothing in the market comes close. Looks awesome. Seats were more comfortable than my bed, loads of leg room, fit and finish was high quality. This car would kick Audi A4’s ass.

Hyundai global don’t agree with you as they price sonata pretty much similar to Tucson everywhere.
Other than that I agree and it’s a good car, priced considerably better than accord or Camry but still priced higher.
Every market which has both Tucson and sonata have them priced pretty similar

Sonata is the latest/current generation model while Tucson isn’t. They would have perhaps been priced similarly or close to each other if they both were current generation.
