Yes and although the bulliten is for sonata 2.5 they have started service throttling of 2.0 model also.

Limp mode is troubleshooted by cleaning throttle body and MAF sensor. I would advise you to check for codes…

No. Throttle body and maf doesn't require cleaning.

But the company suggests the throttle body to be cleaned after every 5000KM even after using the sonata 2.5 solely on high octane. Some of my acquaintances using the car also argue that it has to be cleaned only once. They say the Hyundai dealership attaches computer device and alters the ECU of the car. So they have not sent the car for throttle body service. And have not experience the limp mode issue for the second time. This is quite confusing for me. Do you have any knowledge about this?

Ask them to share any reference from the service manual.
Which error code came up before limp mode?

No even sonata 2.0 is fine. Only 2.4 has the limp issue and it can come anytime and one gets doomed. There is no guarantee of throttle cleaning every 5000 as one collegue faced on new car at 3800 kms

Hi everyone,

I’ve been driving a 2021 Hyundai Sonata for a few months now, and it’s clocked around 30,000 km. Recently, I’ve noticed a couple of issues and wanted to ask for your advice:
1. Acceleration Problem:
The car seems to need more pedal effort to accelerate from idle, especially when climbing. It used to feel fine, but now the RPM often goes above 2 before the car starts to push properly. It feels like it’s taking more power than it should. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
2. Engine Noise:
There’s also an added noise coming from the engine area, which sounds like it might be related to a belt or pulley. It wasn’t there before, and now it’s

You may be close to having your throttle body clogged. Have you been servicing your car from hyundai dealerships? They started to clean the throttle body every second oil change or so. It could even explain the engine noise. In my case we had a check engine light that would occasionally come on

Take it to a hyundai dealership. If you are in Lahore, I always have a good experience with Hyundai Airport. You may talk to Ejaz, the manager in the workshop.
Sonata is a fairly simple car with its NA engine. It would be easy to diagnose, anyways, even if the problem goes beyond this point.
