Very true. 100% agreement. But service and parts, well that was among the major reasons which brought KIA's demise in Pakistan earlier and who knows, history just might repeat itself.

As for the high maintenance cost, it is the euphoria and hype created by our masses that has given the status of Audi and BMW to an ordinary vehicle. So, why won't they ride the wave?

Well if their sales are so phenomenal why have they stopped booking.I am sure these plants have capacity to produce Sufficient number of cars.I think its just a publicity stunt or after the initial euphoria people are settling to some serious thinking and comparisons keeping in view that their dealership is even not settled.They will have teething problems and so will customers who have bought the initial units.However that is to be understood as it does take about a year for any product like a car to settle in the market.Lets not take away anything from Hyundai yet as it is an equally good product if one were to compare with Sportage.

People love to be ripped off in Pakistan just to boast that their imported car is so unique it requires an engineer to be flown in and all spares airlifted too.

A year in vehicular age is 20% of its usable life and usually mistakes during assembly or recalls are done in this time.

Failing to prepare for the initial 2 year experience from brand owner is a perfect recipe to fail. Its tried and tested globally

What hyundai in Pakistan are doing right now is trying to copy a no cost running system which has no parts support inventory. It may work for hype and euphoria products or garage queens

But on a small cuv? Lol

It seems like typical desi businessmen are incharge of everything, run super lean, make no commitments, charge customer for gold and then show attitude like they are mideval kings.

That’s the way to go... even if only 20% of people who have been ripped off by the attitude and corrupt business practices of stealerships start sending legal notices to not only respective companies in Pakistan but also their head quarters.... We may see the change

Absolutely!!I think more and more people should adopt such actions and then a trend will pick up where all such companies won't be able to take you for a ride.i have heard there are Consumer Courts in at least Karachi and Lahore and if there aren't then Civil Courts will take up such matters.

These car company's/ assemblers are not small fish either. They are part of big cartel. You have recently seen how the draft EV policy was thrown out of the window with no consensus. [ passenger vehicles removed from the draft ]

its a good move for implementation of standards but the evaluation of those standards is much bigger requirement and in this case , the neutral ,independent crash testing agency, which itself not a small elephant.

We are Copy Paste people, We ll just find Standards of some other country in "Word Format"and replace their name with Pakistan.

I always tell people read FMVSS [ US ], how each and every thing in a vehicle is researched , documented, implemented.
