So a rough Google earth calculation shows built area on nishat's plant is not even half of Kia Lucky's. Acc to B.Recorder article they've current production capacity 1/3rd of Kia and that's why waiting period has stretched to almost an year, to me it looks like Elantra isn't really coming with this type of situation.

Honestly if i had a penny for every automaker that was gonna set up in Pakistan and every model they were gonna launch.
At one point even Audi was gonna start assembling in pakistan in a ‘few months’

Just to add, the dealership network, which is only around a dozen only and out of that, some don't have yet fully functional service department. In contrast KIA has around 24 countrywide dealerships.

But we forget 1 thing Mansha has many industries including banks so they have huge management and now they can give them their own assembled vehicles instead of purchasing from other vendors also they can have attractive lease options. So I think Hyundai will have good sales because of all these factors.

Not a good look when the Head Researcher of a newspaper calls Tucson 'Tuscan' and Santa Fe 'Senta Fe'.

Anyway, "Hyundai is launching two sedan models", says the article. I suppose one is of course Elantra and the other is Sonata.
I don't think they're going to launch Sonata, it just doesn't seem like a very good business prospect. Who would buy it at the price of Tucson?

Hyundai Accent should be their target.

Well.. I think personally I dont see a local Sonata. First it would not be cheaper than Tucson , Sportage.
Secondly currently it's only produced at 3 location which are also export hubs. Do you think Hyundai will invest in Sonata to capture just a small local market ? ADP16-21 is near end.

Third, Nishat could not even launch Elantra on time which could sell in many more numbers because the segment it falls in. Elantra was delayed from August 2020 as well which is pushed to December for launch and even little further for production.

Let's see but I would not bet on Sorento..

By the way which RHD markets have Sonata for sale currently at this time? I believe Australia has planned for late 2020.. but any other?

There's no Hyundai in this, its only Nishat and sojitz with a license to market and assemble hyundai products I think.
