Need opinion.

I recently got FWD sports.I was previously driving yaris. One thing that really concerns me is the cabin noise(traffic noise). I noticed the vehicle is not good when it comes to soundproofing even when the roof shade is closed. Dealership says its normal for every tucson.

Has anyone ever experienced the same problem or does my car has a problem?

Hyundai guys are hesitant to fix cars under warranty. Stiffness of the steering varies with drive modes. But it should be light in eco mode. Get it checked from other dealership if there are more than one in your city.

My Tucson hit 77777KMs yesterday. It's been 20 months since I bought the car. Here's my long-term review:

1. The suspension is still as good as day 1. No squeaks or noises from the bushings or when going over bumps and rough patches. Keep in mind that the car hasn't always been driven on excellent roads and has seen it's fair share of rural roads and under construction patches.

2. The sunroof rattle is here to stay. It appeared around the 5k km mark and has since persisted. It's nothing major and you won't even feel it on a smooth road but it's noticeable once you go over a rough patch. The only temporary fix that works is cleaning the sunroof rails and lubricating the seals with Silicon Lubricant every couple of months.

3. The fuel consumption has been excellent. Maybe it's because I drive with a light foot and love to hypermile. I've figured out that on the highway, setting the cruise at 120 results in the odometer showing an average of 13, 110 shows 14.5 and 100 shows 16. The most I've been able to squeeze out of a single tank (54 Liters) is 805km with the cruise set at 85 and the drive mode set at ECO.

4. I wish the sunglasses holder was fully padded from the inside since the glasses rattle inside it.

5. The rear passenger comfort is great; however the throw from the rear vents is pretty Average and should have been better.

6. My car has always had a tendency to go towards the left. This manufacturing fault is present in almost all Tucson's I tried. Lately, the steering has started vibrating at speeds of 115+ on some patches of the highway. I suspect this has to do with my tyres (Continental PC6) needing replacement and balancing.

7. I won't go on and on about the headunit since much has been said about it in the forum. Does it work? Yes. Is it the best? NO.

8. The paint quality is average. My hood has dozens of paint chips from incoming rocks and debris. Compared to this, my previous car (Civic 2013) that I drove for almost 200k had none. To any new owners reading this, get the front of your car covered in PPF if not the entire car.

9. Lights, Horns and all other items that some owners have experienced issues with have not troubled me ever. They work as good as the first day.

10. I've stuck with the dealership for routine maintenence but will probably switch to LiquiMoly oils at 100k for the 10k oil change interval. With the amount of travelling that I do, I find going to the dealership and spending a couple of hours every month, pretty futile.

To sum it up, the vehicle has been a very reliable workhorse. Yes, it might not be as loaded in terms of tech as some of the newer offerings in the market, but it does beat them in reliability.

@Xulfiqar this is normal right? I heard all cars should go a little towards the left when the steering is not held on a straight road.

Yes, all right hand drive cars will do that, but very subtle

Understandably, my Civic Rebirth was better in the city given the body size and power to weight ratio. The 2L engine in the Tucson isn't really known for fuel economy; however, driving on the Canal, Tucson gives me a real-life average of 12 km/l (the one shown on the odometer is higher). My one-way commute is almost 28Kms.

Fuel average for you might vary based on traffic, the city you are in and your nature of driving. The breaks are pretty decent but they will take some getting used to if you're moving from a sedan.

Thankfully no leakages. The aftersales service varies from dealership to dealership. IMO, Hyundai premium in Lahore is pretty good. That's where I regularly go.

Haven't run into any issues so no experience with claims. Did get my windshield and front bumper replaced on separate occasions under insurance from Hyundai Gujranwala & Hyundai Jail road respectively. Was a relatively straightforward process.

How difficult was the drive on 85-100kmh speed?

On a highway it will be truly traumatizing for me going that slow.. plus also dangerous.

My daily commute is on the ring road and the Lahore Sialkot motorway, both of which have speed limits of 100. Also, the LSM is a dual carriageway so staying in the left lane makes it pretty doable and safe. But yes, it does get boring at that speed.

Hi Everyone, Has anyone faced fog on the bottom of windscreen when ac temperature is low? I noticed this occurs due to the cold air leaking from the front windscreen ac vents. What is the solution to this? My car is driven 900km only. Tucson FWD

This is a common issue in Hyundai and Kia model cars. Launch a complain with company that your AC direction motor/ rubber have issue or of poor quality since its only 900km driven
