For all the new users and people visiting this thread and existing users trying to diagnose any issues they're facing, I thought to summarize some of the commonly occurring 'faults' in the Tucson.

1. Rattling Sunroof: This is an issue that plagues a large majority of the vehicles. There is no known fix even on international forums, except for cleaning and lubricating the rubber seals and channels with silicon lubricant every few weeks.

2. Noise at startup/shut down originating from the climate control unit and when changing the airflow modes. This is due to the internal gears that move to open and close ducts and change the airflow. The gears overtime accumulate dust and start causing noise. There is no easy fix other than changing the gears after disassembling the entire dashboard. Not worth the hassle.

3. Steering wheel clunk: In some vehicles, users have reported hearing a metallic clunk at the end when they turn the steering wheel to a full lock especially after a long drive. This doesn't happen when normally turning the wheel or during a half lock and also doesn't interfere with the vehicle's steering ability in any kind. This is due to the rubber boots getting worn down which results in two metallic parts touching against each other.

4. Tailgate misalignment. Many tucsons from the factory come with a slightly misaligned tailgate. This is particularly visible at the edges where the reflectors on the tailgate don't line up properly with the reflectors on the bumper. A case of questionable PDI and QA check from Hyundai. The fix for this is relatively simple and takes 10 minutes at the dealership where they loosen some bolts and realign the tailgate.

5. Windshield cracking: This is very rare but still present in some cars both in the local and international market. It has to do with the curvature of the glass requiring a specific amount of adhesive. Having less than the ideal amount leads to a miniscule gap between the glass and the body which is vulnerable to crack even on impact with a small stone that would otherwise cause no harm. This generally happens on the driver's side of the windshield around the speedometers height. Again, this issue is very rare but it still exists.

6. Headlight mositure. This is majorly to do with faulty moisture absorbing pouches/filters in the headlights. Since Tucson has a ventilated light design, these filters play a vital role in absorbing excess moisture and keeping the light free from condensation. The fix is relatively simple under warranty. Nishat was earlier replacing the entire light under warranty but I've heard that lately they've began to replace the silicon pouches. This is not to be confused with condensation buildup in winters or seasons with high precipitation or moisture after a car wash.

7. Malfunctioning Horns. Many users have reported 1 out of the 2 horns to die. This is easily fixable under warranty.

The purpose of listing these issues is solely to build awareness and help you make a more informed purchase decision. The presence of faults does in no way mean that the vehicle is below par and should be avoided. As evident from my previous posts, I'm a very happy Tucson user since almost 2 years and have only run into 2 of the aforementioned issues. It is possible that your vehicle might not have any of these issues or maybe some of them.

Hi, anyone who owns tucson and also owns/owned current shape corolla. My main concern is rear legroom, which car is better in terms of rear legroom between the two?

On paper, tucson has a shorter wheelbase so i assume it'll be less roomy at the back, but word of someone with hands on experience is welcomed. Thanks!

Made an accidental but super useful discovery today. Turns out that Tucson has heated side view mirrors. They're linked to the rear defogger and turn on when you press the rear defogger button. Surprisingly this feature isn't listed anywhere in the brochure or the website.

The Head unit does not have native support for Android Auto. Your only option is to install Headunit Reloaded app and get wireless android auto connectivity through it. You'll need to download the apk version. A quick Google search will help.

This generation has always been a head turner. From the pictures, it looks like the face lifted version with the more refined front end and DRLs.

Fingers crossed for an early launch and a price tag between 9-10M. Anything over that would be a dumb move.

Back with another couple of updates in my quest to keep this thread alive.

Update 1: Battery died at 92,000 KM and 2 years of use. Felt that the car was taking marginally longer to start up and that the retractable mirrors were also slow to open. Immediately took the car to a nearby battery shop and got a new one. For all those wondering, the OE battery is a Daewoo DIN-666. Cost me 17k after trading in the old one.

Update 2: Got a call from Hyundai Premium Motors about an ongoing campaign regarding the inspection of headlights for moisture and installation of moisture absorbing silicate pouches. Went and got it done. Took about 2.5 hours. The lights were taken out, visually inspected for any gaps, the seams were covered in a thin layer of loctite and the moisture absorbing pouches were placed in the slot.

Over the last 2 years, I've never run into any moisture issues with my lights and I mentioned the same to the dealership but they still insisted I get it done while the campaign is going on.

After 95000KMs with my Continental Premium Contact 6, it was high time to get a fresh set of rubber.

Wanted to replace them with the Premium Contact 7 but unfortunately that wasn't readily avaliable. The next best choice was Yokohama Advan DB v553. After a bit of research, I went for them. Considering I had used the V552 in my previous ride, I already ranked Yokohama pretty high.

The old Continentals served me very well. 95000 KMs over a variety of terrain speaks volume about the quality. The tyres were soft and grippy and didn't get punctured frequently till 85K Kms. After that road noise significantly increased and so did the punctures but all of that is natural at such high mileage.

Anyways, I got a set of Yokohama Advan DB V553 at 48K per tyre. Freshly manufactured in September 2024. The old Contis were traded in at 2.5K per tyre.

Immediately after getting the V553 installed, I can notice an incredible difference in terms of road noise and softness. The tyres feel like you're riding on a mattress and they're super quiet. Road grip is great so far. Will probably be sharing my long-term review in time.

Very interested to know a bit more about the different terrains that you mentioned for your PC6.
I have been looking for a premium tire for a crossover which would have good durability against a variety of surfaces, just like you say you have experienced. Over what period was this?
I have tried Michelin Primacy 4, which didn't come up to expectations and had rubber chipping off the tread and side walls after 35k km and i replaced at 45k with PC5. BTW I'm from Karachi so this would probably give you an idea of the surfaces I drive on. My second experience with the stock Hankooks on my H6 is different, but I've done only 25k km till now in 2 years. On one of my long road trips when the car was at 18k, I faced some rough roads under construction and ended up having rubber chipping of the tread in two of the tires. It wasn't like I was driving off road, it was just under repair patched roads so I was disappointed by the damage.
So now I'm searching for a suitable replacement, PC7 and V553 are two of the options I was considering. Need good grip, great comfort and preferably low noise, along with durability of course.
Your longer term V553 experience would be very helpful since I'm pretty sure of it's comfort and noise performance.
