I am buying MG HS 2021 Trophy Model....The problem is when i take a test drive of this car, it jerks a little bit when I press the accelerator to start driving and It felt like the transmission is bad. Also I feel every gear changing which I don't feel in my other car. People are saying that this jerk and gear changing feeling is normal with this car, even the brand new ones....kindly suggest if I buy this car or not.

One more thing is the MG that I shortlisted had, and this is according to the owner of the car, a little scratch on driver's side door which is fixed now. The owner is saying that the door was initially partially painted where the scratch was and the color (pearl white) was not matching properly so instead of painting the whole door, they put lacquer on the whole door to match the color and there was no putty used. But now when you closely look at the car, you feel a slight shade change in this door color compared to the rest of the car. Kindly answer the question at your earliest because time is short...thank you in advance.

First shifts are jerky on for DCT gearbox which feels abnormal when coming from other cars. It gradually gets smoother when vehicle is operating in normal temperature. This shouldn't even be a concern as there are greater concerns when buying MG HS which is laggy infotainment, fuel economy and suspension response.

The used vehicle you are looking for should be negotiated according to the flaws found like paint not matching properly especially if it's priced at average market pricing. Do not hasten to buy the vehicle unless you are getting best deal as it often leads to regret sometimes.

Well the market value is awesome nowadays so I would go for it if I had no tension of resale and reliability. Solid vehicle overall for the value.

Thanks for a great answer. The car that I explained with a door painted (or lacquered according to the owner) is an MG HS (new meter) year 2021 and now agreed on 6,250,000/- (asking was 6,500,000). Kindly suggest asap if I buy this one and one door painted is not that big of an issue. Mileage on this one is 24,000 km.

Other option that I have is MG HS 2021 (new Meter), 21,500 km driven, scratchless condition except a small 6" dent on left fender which can be removed through dry denting....asking was 6,850,000 and now agreed on 6,600,000/-

kindly let me know which one shall i buy if i have to buy urgently. thank you in advance.

I think you would be better off with the cheaper option, if you will be fine for having a mismatched door or panel for the rest of your ownership. While it is possible to fix this, you would be better off not making this your headache, I do not think the effort is worth the result. I always had bad experiences trying to match a pearl white paint with any car, never even succeeding.

This cheaper option owner is saying that this lacquer is done through MG dealership and they are liable to fix it if it fades or mismatches significantly for the rest of the life of the car....I am not sure how true is that....

Yeah, sure they are liable. After several trials they will keep pushing you to wait a few weeks, the paint will naturally start to blend in. After a few weeks there will be slight shade changes that you probably will not see until you are looking at it in direct light. Then you keep bringing it in to repeat this process. I've gone through this, (albeit not with an MG), and it is one of those things where it pays off to just ignore it.

Furthermore, I do not know how good MG is in terms of after sale service. I haven't done anything other than the free service. I'm wondering if they'll still accept my warranty after not bringing it in for an oil change (although it only ran for 400km)?

MG is a good buy considering that it looks best in the CSUV category, have tons of features and reasonable price (comparatively).

I think 2021 all clean one should not be more than 6.5M and you need to negotiate harder for the painted door one.

Rest also get the car checked for any other issues thoroughly and get the service history verified from the dealership.

21 model car market is not above 62 ,63 for very clean car max. at 65 you are being ripped off and if you want to sell later you'll be the one facing a loss, keeping mind this cars resale is VERY slow soo don't be in a hurry to buy the seller will lower their prices
Also take car to MG and check if car had 'DCT transmission heatup issue" its Very common in HS these days. (VERY IMP)

MG HS requires HI Octane so If you can afford to run it on Hi octane only then consider buying it
If car was driven on normal fuel it'll knock ,some sellers put good quality fuel when they want to sell so beware of that.
