I don't have original number plates. What should I do?

I have a Islamabad registered Mehran 2010 and I did not get original number plates with it.

Should I do anything about it? What?

Never had any issues with the number plates I use but I heard I cannot an MTAG witthout original number plates.

i checked now and could not find any such stamp. So it means plates were probably never recieved.

Yes may be they are with excise.... you can go and ask them...

You can apply for the plates. And use that slip. You gonna need it if you every get stopped by police.

Thank you. I wil visit excise office soon to find out the status and if plates were never collected then will simply get ./ apply for ones.

Lost plates probably have complicated process.

In Lahore excise is not making new plates for old cars. Not sure about ISB.

You can get M-tag without original plates. And if you have not received original plates from ETO then you can claim them from ETO.

Can you please confirm it about Punjab/ Lahore licence plates?
My brother has applied for original plates of his car almost one and half year ago (computerized plates never issued before), the rep at excise office Lahore is continuously telling to wait for few months more whenever he is contacted.

Yes. Excise is not making new plates. According to them it's a technical issue.
You can make custom plates same as excise pattern.

Does it mean excise office will start issuing plates for old cars, if this technical issue is resolved? Or old cars won't be issued paltes at all, what ever the case may be.

And what plea to opt for if police try to stop and issue you a ticket for nonconforming plates, especially if the car is being driven in cities other than Lahore, say Islamabad or Peshawar etc.

I don't think they are going to make plates for old cars now.
They allow to install locally made plates that looks same as original ones, no extra letters. Also you receive a slip when you apply number plates keep it with you. If you ever get stopped (although you never going to if you install those plates) you can show them the slip.
Recently i got a pair made for my bike. They even punched the letters same as Original ones. Cost me 400.

bro just visit E&TD islamabad. fill a form for getting new numbr plates. attach nic n veh regn book copy along with fee around 800 for prius n deposit at the cabin for purpose. they will stamp it and give you date after 30 days to collect. i recently got for my two cars.
