JDM vehicles are write-off auction vehicles from Japan. with non-existent NEW parts required for engine suspension and body cosmetics.

The flood of JDM vehicle smuggling over fake documents has come to an end in 2018. been 5 years now, only legitimate vehicles with money trail are available now & then.

Walk away from JDM vehicles, you have hard earned monies utilise it wisely.

Bro in my office.. 5 picanto are there none has heatup issue .. one of colleague drive so rough and often 7 (3 kids) people on board whild driving

Take it with a grain of salt but for a lot of awaam the "heat up" issue is tested by "feel" - they are literally touching the bonnet and front of the car and feeling it a bit hot.

The dealership literally coddles them and says " jee aap theek kehrahai hain" and proceed to bill the customer into multiple of tens of thousands in the name of "work"

And owner stupidity. Instead of using the gauge panel, touch and feel takes preference.

And these folks are able to distinguish feel of 100c vs 110c without burning their hands.

Some more “learned” ones squeeze the hose pipes and claim “pressure maarahi hai, gaskit khatam, thanda ilaqa etc etc”

And nothing the dealer says will be believed because it goes against their cultural legacy learning which was based on dada ki vegzall and mamoo ki foxy.

I have driven Picanto manual. Its a good car but I had issue with the leg space. I got an average of 13 with chilled AC. I have not driven an automatic but I have heard from friends its fuel average is less than 10.

It is a better car than Alto but space and fuel is something important.

Mine has body kits installed and it’s a bit tricky to get from bumps, the non body kits ones are fabulous in ground clearance. There is no issue in them.

For now, I have decided to get a new Alto AGS. Because it is new and fuel efficient.

I do get your point on average, Picanto build quality is far better than Alto. And it is 1000cc as compared to 660cc. Fuel consumption will be 33% more but I will have a better car.

I will visit my friend again to take a look at the seats again. And may consider it.

I will prefer a sedan any day but these are out of my range and buying older models in my range is a bet in terms of maintenance.

For now, I am waiting for my money and possible decrease in rates, big if. Otherwise, will get a 2024 Alto model.

I have both .. Alto and picanto personally i love picanto a lot.

alto it does the job but build quality is so much pathetic.. i m sure u have never seen alto accidents i wish..
bro i have seen it.. i hate it .. for school drop and shopping ... i think u should not prefer .. suzuki cars except Swift new one but still new one swift has some flaws.but still better then other suzuki cars.

and alto cabin noise .. i cant even talk while driving ..engine sound is too much cabin insulation 0 .. i mean.

i have both picanto and alto i know the clear difference

3.5. u can get clean City 2020 or i will suggest you go for picanto then

rest your choice just compare both sound insulation driving pleasure and specially steering.. picanto steeting like a butter..then make a choice.

After much thinking and comparing the suggested options. I have decided to buy a new Picanto AT. I know I can get a used one in a good condition for around 30 lacs but I won't get warranty. But I will keep looking for Ads and if I found a good one with 9.9 condition, I may buy it.

I will place an order in Jan/Feb after arranging some more money.

Reasons for my decisions

1. Quality, comfort, features
2. Legroom issue won't affect me as me as children can easily site on rear seats.
3. For fuel, I am fine with 10km/l as I don't have to drive a lot. I can spare extra 10-15K for comfort.

I don't have any plans to sell the car in the next 5-8 years.

I appreciate all responses, but I tested a few Alto and it is not what I want. Seats are not comfortable, missing headrest, no seat belts on all seats, no powered windows, feels like mehran or khyber.
