I have poured Zic X7 5W/20 instead of 5W/30. I never used 5W/20 before but this time i forgot to check before change so is there any issue in using 5W/20 instead of 5W/30. I changed oil today here in Peshawar. Expert advise needed in this regards.
No, the oil is good. Recommended grades are 0-20, 5-20 or 5-30. There should be no problem with using this oil.*Ex Mira owner
I have read documentation of Mira and in documents, recommended oils are 0w20 and 5w30. There is small viscosity difference in 5w20 and 5w30. So due to that viscosity differences I am worried now.
Brother rest assured, nothing bad will happen IN SHA ALLAH, provided, engine health is perfect and engine oil is 100% genuine and original.
Rightly said and agreed! 5w-20 falls in-between 0w-20 and 5w-30, so no big deal!
If engine health is fine, do not worry!
Engine is in good condition and i bought a sealed zic x7 5W/20 from oil changer at a petrol pump in hayatabad, Peshawar.
Since its too cold in Islamabad/Peshawar so this 5W/20 will give no harm to my car's engine.
5w-20 will give no harm regardless of the ambient temperature. It's a recommended engine oil for mira. If the engine health is perfect then it will run like clockwork. I have a jdm 2014 alto which takes 0w-20 oil and runs great even in lahore's summer heat. Furthermore, changed oil in my 8th gen civic today.. guess what.. i poured in 0w-20. Modern economy car engines are designed in a certain way with tight tolerances and run great on thin oils. Using thicker grades when not required will only expose the engine to premature wear.
What do mean by ambient temperature? I am in Islamabad. Here now a days temperature is below 15 C in the morning and evening.
5W-20 is good for JDM do not blink enjoy your ride
LOL, not asking meaning. Anyway, Thanks for your replies.
Thanks Basit, Suleman and capsat for your replies. I was worried about this oil change as I used to buy 5w/30 for last six years but this time I forgot 30 and used 5w/20. I will change it within 6 months or so and will use 0w/20.
